Prototype #3 = Experiment: Sea Snail Hybrid/Resurrection

Since Kotomi's resurrection proved that we had correctly determined which of the tests on Soshun had brought him back, Junko decided that the next experiment-and the rest of them from now on- would be more mutated and altered than the first ones. Junko randomly decided to transform Ryota into some sort of obscure mer-creature, eventually settling on, of all things; a sea snail.

The first thing we had to figure out was how to create the lower body and shell for the experiment. We figured out how to create the organic mass needed to assemble this experiment by splicing the subject's human DNA with that of a sea snail, and then growing the skin, muscles, veins, etc, needed to construct the giant semi-artificial snail foot. Along with that, we used the machine for the shell as well, and were able to create the shell, -mostly composed of calcium carbonate, along with keratin- in one piece. After a ridiculous amount of time, we were successfully able to sewed together the pieces of the snail parts, and were ready to start on the actual subject. First off, we did the first steps of the resurrection process, but altered his lungs instead of making them normal human lungs, since we would be connecting them to gills in the future.

Once it came time to put the parts together, Junko chopped off his legs with glee, and eventually we connected the organs, muscle, veins, and nerves with the new lower body. We continued to add more to the subject along with continuing the regular resurrection process, such as adding two feathery, leaf-like gills to the subject's face. The gills connect to the lungs, which were previously modified for this purpose. As we kept adding more reactants to alter the DNA and body chemistry of the experiment, we noticed that the skin had turned a bluer tone and secretes a thin layer of slime. There was an odd malformation of the ears, which we then altered to work and hear properly underwater. The eyes also changed, and his eyelids became incredibly dark and weak, drooping heavily, which is most likely a unexpected mutation or side effect caused by the DNA alterations.

Finally, Junko wanted to do a few extra disfigurements on Ryota before the resurrection process was finished, so we also changed his hands, making them prong-like and webbed. We also ended up removing his entire mandible, and removed his remaining teeth, then added two large horn-like teeth over his canines used to be, and two more to the back of his upper jaw. The fangs are slightly venomous and can cause temporary paralysis, so the subject was given chemicals that give him immunities to his own poisons. The tongue was replaced with three tongue-like tentacles, so the subject can eat despite the lack of lower jaw.
