A New World

Chapter 2: The Calling

"Wake him up already!" A muffled voice sounded out. I slightly opened my eyes and could somehow figure out that there were two people standing in front of me.

"Shut the hell up, Arabel!" The guy hissed at the girl standing beside me.

Where am I?

I completely open up my eyes and there are two faces looking down at me. A girl looking like an Amazona eyeing me like I'm some kind of animal. And a guy with a large build that looks like he's ready to take down a bear any time.

Confused, I sat right up and looked at both of them. They didn't say anything and just looked at me with some kind of anticipation.

"Just talk already!" The girl shouted looking bored and curious at the same time. I winced and almost covered up my ears because of her voice. How loud!

"Arabel!"

I feel like I'm gonna go deaf if this goes on further.

"Where am I?" I asked hoping to get some answer. I looked around and saw that we were in some kind of forest-like house. The wall is made up of wood and almost anything that you see inside are made up of wood and...bones?

Outside the window are people doing their own things. I can also see some houses that are similar to the one that I am currently at.

Woah. It looks like I got taken to a village.

I looked at the two people here again and asked. "Who are you guys?"

"I'm Robin and this one right here is Isabel" The guy answered. So, his name is Robin? My name is still better.

Who cares?

"What do you mean 'this one right here'?!" Isabel answered while rolling her eyes. She cleared her throat and introduced herself. "I'm Isabel and I...I... Well I'm just Isabel"

She looked away like she was embarrassed or something.

"So who ar-"

"So you are a natural! Who are you? Where did you come from?! Are you from the North?! I thought you guys weren't supposed to come out of your territory?!" Isabel cut off Robin before he could finish what he was going to ask. He sighed.

"Let the man breathe first, Isabel. Ask him one by one"

They both look at me anticipating my answer.

"Well..You could call me Nathan I guess. And I don't where I come from" I answered while scratching my head.

"What? So where did YOU come from?" She asked, irritated.

"I told you, I don't know. I'm just as confused as you guys. I can't remember where I came from. But what I remember is that I was at the mountain and a large beast attacked me"

She loudly gasped and looked at Robin. Then she looked at me.

"Let's go outside first"

Robin pointed at the door and I slowly got up. Strangely, I am already feeling better than before. I followed them outside and got a better view of the village.

"We found you by the river yesterday. You were unconscious and got traces of blood. We immediately brought you here to treat you but there is no wound or anything. You must have passed out." He explained.

"Yesterday?! Did I sleep for a whole day?" I asked in surprise. They both looked at me and nodded.

"Did you come from the 'Death forest'" Isabel cautiously asked. Like she was being secretive or something.
