Chapter 15: Anthros
My whole body become numb and sluggish from the pain as I felt its hot breath in my face. However, what I felt next was the heavy weight of the wolf body as it slumps in top of me.
A few moments of silence envelopes the whole forest before I open my eyes. I saw the dying wolf in top of me as whimpers and painful grunts resounded in my ears.
Scream almost left my body as I struggle to push the wolf out of my body. Blood quickly flows out of my shoulders as soon as I got its claw out.
"Arghh" My body trembled as I feel my strength leave my body bit by bit.
"Kill me child. Q-quick"
My motion halt upon hearing something. Man, I am really about to die here. I look at the wolf beside me when it whimpered. Its almost closed eye is looking at me with...hope?
Or is it sadness?
"Kill me before I turned into a disgraceful beast" A hard and feminine voice sounded out again directly in my head.
I look at the wolf with wide eyes.
"Is that you!?" I blurted out. Not minding if I sound rude.
"Yes, dear child. Now kill me before something happen "
Dark electricity starts to appear in its body and the wolf whimpered in pain. Its painful breath became faster and it seems like it was suppressing something. It looks at me again with emotion flashing in its eye.
It was sadness and pain.
"Please"
I pick up my sword and channel some of my energy making the crystal embedded in its shine. I raise it up and looks at the wolf with its eye already close.
"I don't know what happened but it seems like you know that you will be a danger to anyone else if I do not kill you here now" I look at it with pity.
The wolf seems to possess a certain degree intelligence and can communicate with me. What happened to her? I look at it one more time before I trust the sword in chest, ensuring that the corrupted crystal will shatter.
After a few seconds, dark energy seeped out of its body and gradually vanish in the air. Like they were being purified.
Suddenly, glowing particles starts to appear everywhere and encircle our location. A sudden breeze of wind brushed my body as the lights gather hovering in the air.
My body feels somewhat light and the numb feeling of my hand disappears. Though, the wound in my shoulder still send bolts of pain throughout my body
The light particles flies in every direction and stopped on top of pile dead tress where the mutated wolf came from. It hovers for a while until it fade away.
"Thank you"
What sound a whispers echo in my ear as the lights completely disappears.
I slumped in the ground, sighing very loudly as if letting everyone hear how tired I am.
"Fuck" I muttered as I examined my wound. It was pretty deep and blood is still flowing out of it. I hold my head when I feel like my vision was getting blurry. I activated my crystal power and recover my body little by little.
