Chapter 12: The Truth
The grass in the ground sways as the cool breeze blew right past me. The sun is already out in the sky and the sound of the chirping birds can be heard everywhere. Different thoughts run in my mind as I stare in the Alytra Village in distance.
It looks like a normal day if you don't consider what happened. Yeah. Things would have been better if everything didn't happen.
Three days have passed since the battle in the forest and everyone...well everyone is still mourning. I am too but...it feels like I could have done more to prevent all of that from happening.
Things have been hard since we arrived in the village. We haven't been able to talk properly with each other as they are all exhausted and wounded from the battle. Especially, Elder Mang who used her ability to support all of us. I also helped those who are wounded by casting 'Heal" in them.
While there were casualties, we've managed to bring back high-quality crystal and used them to form a barrier in the village. Though, I was the one who mainly did all the work because of what happened. Strangely, I was not exhausted nor wounded after the battle in the forest.
It's like after I lose consciousness, my body undergo some kind of changes. That also explains why I woke up in a middle of the battle.
There's also no sign of corrupted energy in my body.
I look at the crystal in my wrist that's emitting bluish light.
You've saved me once again, huh?
I tapped it and the hologram appeared.

Maybe it's because of the fight with the monster but my level considerably increased as well as my Life Force and Energy. Though, I still don't understand what it means with 'Phase I' and 'Phase II' but I'm sure that they are related to how well my body can use the crystal's power.
And what's with the 'Emergency Protocol 221'? Isn't that the number in my name plate that I found when I first woke up here? It was also mentioned by the voice in that dark space. It still bothers me what happened that day.
Yeah. What 'happened' that day...
Many things still remain unanswered on what really happened. Where did that large monster came from? Why we were attacked by a horde of mutated beasts and monsters?
