Chapter 14: Outside

I sigh once again and swipe the drops of sweat dripping in my forehead.

Life is really unpredictable, isn't it? Just another day I was chilling and living the best of my life and now here I am walking under this unbearable heat with nothing but myself.

Fuck

I expected that this trip to the East will not be as easy as I thought it would be but I didn't even think that there would be a desert here.

Do they really travel in foot here or I was just the one who's stupid for walking this far?

Damn. I should have ride at least a bear or something.

Wiping the sweat in my forehead, I opened the map and it seems like I would be able to reach the forest before the day ends. I could have taken a more suitable path but this would be a lot faster.

So, the orange color represent place like desert, huh.

I roamed my eyes and there is absolutely nothing but sand. This would take a while before I could go to the next village in the east.

It's been a one hell of a week since I leave the Alytra Village to prepare for my journey in the North. I would need every knowledge and power I could get before I confront whatever is there in that place. And yeah, I thought that the East would be a good place to start.

I'm currently aiming to see if the rumors that Maria once told me that the beings dwelling there would be a great help for me.

Anthros

According to Maria, these creatures are like born warriors which are many times stronger than humans. They could navigate the forest efficiently than anyone else and the important part is – there are high chance that they could not get affected by corrupted energy seeing that they do not manifest a crystal in their body nor use it.

In exchange, they get a strong physique and animal like characteristics.

I realized that the journey to the North will be difficult and dangerous. I will need to go through the Death Forest which houses beast and monsters far more dangerous than what I encounter in the forest. Elder Mang urge me not to continue but I know that someone should go.

I need to go

It's not because I want to play hero but there is just something telling me that I need to go there. That the truth that I have been seeking since I woke up here would be answer there. Where people like me, a Natural, resides.

There's also something that I need to find out. What causes the corrupted energy and where it comes from?

Then there's that thing that Cynth said about something in the underground.

Urgh. Thinking all of this is making my head hurts.

I dismissed my thoughts for now and continue walking using my energy to replenish my stamina. After some time, I could see the edge of the greenery and lively forest in my sight. I hurriedly run to it until a shade covers the sun that have been making my skin itch for days now.

Tired from days of walking, I let myself slump in the smooth grass and rest for a while. I rolled like a child, stretching my body to release the pent-up fatigue.

After a while, I smell something unbearable. I look around and trace the smell using my nose.

Shit. I think that's me

Scratching mg head, I realized that I have not been able to even bath for the whole week that I've been walking here. Was the last shower I got when I left Alytra Village?
