Chapter 15

After reminiscing her past through a dream, Yeji slowly opened her eyes and saw nothing but a white ceiling.

"Hyunjin... I miss you. That was the first time you showed up in my dreams..."

She didn't notice a tear escape from her eye at the thought of her brother. Even so, she shrugged her head slightly to shrug off any dramas in her mind for it is not really the right time to do so.

Marks of her bruises were there but the pain is gone. Just like what happened before she came down on earth again with her friends.

The cat-eyed angel then tried to get up but stopped when she noticed a weight right in her right arm.

"Ryujin..." She muttered, seeing a familiar person's crown.

Just by her whisper, the demon was awakened, eyes still sleepy but also alert at the same time. "You're already awake? Are you alright? Any parts of you hurting?"

She blasted a series of questions while checking out the dominion for possible open wounds at the same time.

It's only them in the area since three of Ryujin's other friends went to another room to still help the angels who continued in fighting such a powerful demon.

Yeji, on the other hand, didn't answer her and instead just stood up, grabbing her rapier once again in hopes of fighting the demon.

This, of course, was halted by the short-haired demon. "You need to rest for a bit. The impact of the demon on you was strong." She suggested as she ran towards the door for her to block it.

"I'm fine, Ryujin. There's no need to worry. I've rested enough." She said with a reassuring smile that's been able to melt Ryujin away.

But no, she cannot be swayed as she cares about the high-ranked angel so much that she can no longer afford to see her in pain.

"No. I'm sure your body is still in sho–"

"Ryujin."

Yeji cut her off by holding in both her shoulders which made the other speechless.

"I told you I'm an angel so this is just nothing to me. Don't worry about me too much. They need me. My friends who're fighting out there with all their might. So if you please?" She said as she moved the demon aside to pass through the door.

"But..." Ryujin still tried to oppose but was unable to do so as she was at a loss for words.

"I'll see you later, Ryujin. Go with your friends first. It seemed like they were playing something there because of the noises." The high-ranking angel then chuckled before bidding goodbye.

She then quickly made her wispy wings appear and spread for her to launch towards where the other angels were.

The short-haired demon sighed exasperatedly seeing the figure of the angel fly away from where she was.

She then bit her lower lip, a hint of worry still visible in her face. Not just because of Yeji but also the three other angels that came down.

With that, Ryujin quickly ran towards where her friends were and saw how they were struggling to keep up the spells they were casting.

"Fuck! You're done flirting? Help us out now quickly!" Yeonjun shouted as soon as he saw the demon enter the room they're in.

The short-haired demon then saw the state by looking at a holographic map that Wooyoung made and saw how tired the angels were while the devil didn't show a bit of exhaustion.
