It had been about a week since you came to stay with the small coven of vampires and you had fallen into a bit of a routine. Each morning you would wake up, move around a small bit, and wait for one of the boys to come greet you. They would help you to the kitchen if you asked for it, and you would sit down to eat with them. For the rest of the day, at least one of them tended to be with you or at least near, but you would find little bits of time to yourself either in your room or out with the flowers.
When you woke up this morning there had been significantly less pain in your wounds than a week ago. Even though they have not healed fully, the constant pain had decided to subside, allowing you a bit more mobility. The crutch was still a necessity, much to your disappointment.
"Good morning sunshine!"
You look over to see Yeonjun at your doorway, a bright smile on his face.
"You seem a bit cheery this morning," you point out, shifting to grab your crutch from the side of your bed.
Yeonjun moves forward quickly, offering you his hand to help you up from the bed and getting you stable on your crutch. The two of you begin the trek to the kitchen.
"Of course I am," Yeonjun speaks, the smile not leaving his face. "It's hunting day!"
You pause, looking at him with confusion laced in your gaze. "Hunting day? Like animal hunting?"
"No not animals," he hums, almost for dramatic effect you feel. "Humans. It's time for us to feed today!"
"Huh," you huff, finally moving into the kitchen and sitting down with Yeonjun's help. The others had already gathered and food was placed on the table. "I thought you guys just kinda fed when you needed to."
"No we do mostly," Beomgyu interrupts before Yeonjun can answer. "But we try not to actually kill when we feed, which keeps us from filling up in a lot of cases, so every now and again we have to have a day where we find a couple of people at once we can feed on."
Nodding in understanding, you begin to eat your breakfast. "You said you normally try not to kill, what cases would change that?"
"Hunters mostly," Yeonjun answers shortly.
"Fair enough," you hum absentmindedly. "That's normally my philosophy."
The six of you delve into the food, eating in a comfortable silence until you break it.
"Wait so are there hunters in the area?"
"Yeah a few," Taehyun nods, shrugging his shoulders. "Mostly just passing through. They make pretty easy targets too."
"Seriously?"
Taehyun chuckles. "Oh yeah absolutely. We are like a day and a half walk from Memor, which means no creature in their right mind would stay that close. Which is why they never check before they go anywhere around here. Plus, we have a couple of wards up for good measure."
"Makes sense why I never see anyone around here," a smile builds on your lips. "You guys are really smart, you know that?"
"Thanks Sol," Kai giggles, smiling shyly.
The rest of breakfast goes by quickly, soft conversation flowing every now and again. Once everyone was done, you headed outside to the little swinging couch once again, which was quickly becoming a favorite spot of yours.
"Sol?" Kai calls from inside the house.
You call out to him, and he makes his way outside.
"We are heading out soon," Kai begins, taking a seat next to you. "Beomgyu offered to stay behind with you if you want him to."
