Who Would Save Me? (Chapter 28)

"You have three seconds Teru or it won't look so good for the Kid."
Was the Mokke's only reply as it looked down at me with cold eyes.

"Or should I too test how much you care about this one? I bet we would get different results~"
The Mokke smirked as it spoke. My vision shook as I had trouble getting any air into my lungs.

"No need I'll take it back soon enough."
Even a deaf person could tell Teru wasn't joking.  At this point, I was wheezing making my hands shoot up to my chest. He finally removed the blade from my skin.

"Now let him go!"
Teru grumbled and Mint obliged by lowering the knife in sync with him.

I would run right now if I could but all that happened was that I crawled with my last strength, all this was too much I was exhausted to no end.

Suddenly I felt a tug, a surprised yelp escaped my lips as he grabbed the back of my hoodie and pulled me back beside him.

Teru's grip around the fabric stayed strong as he dropped the Katana and kicked it over to the little creature, it did the same with the knife.

It picked the sword up with sparkling eyes as the despair inside my heart grew, why did I ever deny it? Mint already betrayed me once by not saving me back then why did I think this would be different?

I wanted nothing more than my happy little life back with a happy little group of friends. I must have asked for too much...and still, I couldn't stop myself but yell even though every word burned in my throat.
"YOU DAMN TRAITOR!"

"Look I didn't want to do this- I just didn't have another way right now."
The Mokke answered nonchalantly

"Yeah, yeah same as back then why did I ever take you back!? Always too busy to give a shit about your friends. "

The Mokke only released an annoyed sigh
"Look I have my reasons and they are currently more important than your self-centred act of revenge."

I gasped before I yelled through tears
"Are you actually saying that after what you just did?! You know well that I'm doing this for all Mokke!"

"Yeah keep telling yourself that lie. You know, your motives are Cristal clear to me (y/n). Your priority isn't trying to help other Mokke you are after your own plan and so am I. You can't blame me."
Its tone was dismissive as if his actions were as clear as day

"What do you mean I can't blame you?! I'm only here because you didn't save me, because you spilt the potion on me, because you right now choose a chunk of metal over ME! YOU WERE JUST USING ME ALL THIS TIME!"
I cried out with a burning heart. Everything was painfully obvious but I suppressed it and now it was coming to haunt me. Mint was the one who spilt this potion on me, Mint suggested taking over this school...Mint, MiNt, MINT it all lead back to this fella.

"My, my aren't you dramatic~ Using you, well haha you aren't wrong! I did jump at the opportunity when it presented itself."

"You- why?! Just why?!? We were so close to Victory!"
I cried in disbelief

"Oh right, you see I never was after that I only wanted their weapons and I didn't mind putting the school on its head while I do it. I won't stop you either but mind you, I'm busy."
The Mokke, once my comrade and now fallen soldier said as it backed away till it arrived at the flight of stairs.

"Also a free piece of advice, be careful who you call a friend. Your buddies are cowards, the only one respectable is Bubble. It pushed against its fear for your sake and here you were ready to sacrifice it for your plan."
It explained as it hopped up the stairs, the metal clunking behind it.
