Part-time Dad

When he found out that Tosh was pregnant, he was terrified.

I mean, he was so young and so was she, and how was he going to become number one if she had a kid

So shortly after he found out, he broke up with her

Of course, he had to take responsibility and be there when the child came.

Obviously, he waited outside, checking to make sure she was good and the baby was alive, but right after he left.

Time skip, now they're heroes, the kid is maybe 5.

And every other week or weekend she stays at Katsuki's house.

He'll take her around to the office and sometimes ignore her.

Lots of times he leaves her with his mom and dad.

But occasionally he'll actually sit with her and talk to her and tell her all about his life as a hero and she'll tell him about her preschool adventures.

And even though he never wanted to be a dad, he doesn't hate when he has those moments with her.

He enjoys it when she tells him about how she beat the bully on the swing set, or how she's been with her letters, showing him that she now knew how to spell a few words and small sentences.

He even has a piece of paper stuck to his fridge with a note in her handwriting that says nothing more than " I - L -O- V-E - D-A-D" on it.

And granted he refuses to talk to Toshiko anymore past emergency pick-ups or custody, but he still wishes that maybe he put a little more effort into having a relationship with her. Then his kid could see their dad more.

When Toshiko got a new boyfriend, Kat noticed that their kid had to spend more time at his house, or with his parents.

And when Kats asked what was happening with her mom, she said "Well, mommy's new boyfriend is kinda mean."

"How mean?"

"REALLY MEANZ!! He's so mean to Mommy. He makes her wear makeup everywhere, on her face and arms, and sometimes legs! And then he makes her wear bandages on her arms too. And Sunglasses. Sometimes they're so big I can't see her eyes!"

"Why.. does he make her do that?"

"Cus he doesn't like her spots."

"What spots?"

"The ones that appear! They just appear all over! When mommy's not wearing her sunglasses, her eyes look purple, and sometimes she has blood on her hands. He also smells horrible! Like that one drink that you say is for adults."

When Toshiko came to pick her up the next day, he noticed how she didn't speak and was dressed for winter with big sunglasses, as their kid had described.

She just gave him a nod and grabbed her stuff and led their kid to the car.

But Katsuki followed and put the bags in the trunk for her as she just buckled her kid up.

"Are you okay?"

Toshiko was very surprised that he had even spoken to her. "Why?"

Katsuki shut the door so she couldn't hear. "Cus Hana said that your new boyfriend's been hurting you"

"What!?!"

"She said 'he makes her wear a lot of makeup to cover up her spots. And big sunglasses cus her eyes look purple and red. And sometimes she has blood.' And she also said that he's an alcoholic."
