The Owl House one shots (Mainly Hunter)

"No I'm fine! Fine as can be.?"

I had no idea what to do with the title tbh- I hate writing titles if I don't have a clear story anyways, thank you lillelovely for the wonderful idea 😌✨ if you can't see the picture it says:
So, i would have an idea for a one shot: 'so, maybe a what if Darius took in Hunter after he and Luz were in Belos' mindscape and then Hunter gets sick. But he feel all guilty about it 'cause Darius has already so much to do because of the rebellion. And Hunter therefore tries to hide being sick from him.' I just think that would be an interesting idea.
Anyways on to the chapter!

"Hey Hunter!" Luz said as she sat down next to blonde haired boy.

"Hey Luz.." Hunter spoke, kind of weak and gloomy.

"There is something going on with you lately.. What's the matter?" Luz moved closer to Hunter but that only made him move away. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I can just leave you with this, you've been less active and I can hear you mumbling at night. If you tell me I won't tell anyone, pinky promise?" Luz held out her pinky, expecting a question of what this was but Hunter put out his pinky as well and wrapped it around Luz's.

"You better not break this promise.. So you know how Darius took me in after the whole Belos mind thing.." Hunter was making sure that Luz knew all the details before he explained the actual situation. Luz nodded her head then Hunter went on. "The entire rebellion has every grownup here stressed and staying up all night just to get this done."

"Yeah.. Eda had to push me away from that room multiple times because I was trying to listen in and see if I could help in any form.." Luz put her hand on Hunters shoulder to let him know that she was here.

"Yeah.. So long story short, I think I've fallen sick or something, but it's not that bad! Used to handle these things back in the emperor's coven all the time by myself!" His words went faster as he went on like he was panicked Luz would tell someone.

"Hunter you need to tell someone about that, it's not healthy to keep it in.. But I pinky promised I wouldn't tell anyone.. But I didn't say anything about not being able to help-"

"What? No no, It's not that bad! You don't have to help in any way- I swear I'll be fine!" Hunter put one of his arms on his side and flapped his other arm signalling that he was fine.

"Well okay.. But if you need anything, anything at all, just come to me." Luz kissed Hunter on the forehead (SIBLING LOVE) and ruffled his hair. She left the room and Hunter sat there for a moment.

Hunter sat with his thoughts until he felt something creep up his throat and for a moment he thought it was just his imagination, but he was poorly mistaken. He covered his mouth with his hand and when he coughed into his hand and saw it, there was blood all over the palm.

Normal right? Hunter was starting to think that he should tell Darius but he still didn't want to bother him or anyone. Everyone was already so busy with the rebellion against the day of unity, and didn't want to bother any of the other kids.

"Hunter? Are you in here?" Oh shit. That was Darius, and Hunter still had the blood on his hand. He clenched his fist as Darius walked into the room. "Hey, I've been meaning to- why is your fist clinched? Did something happen?"

"No, no! Everything is a okay! Nothing to worry about.. Darius.." Hunter's voice got weaker as the sentence continued, but he tried to keep his fist in the same position. But he got unlucky.

Eberwolf (IM SORRY IF THATS NOT HOW YOU SPELL HIS NAME 😭) came in the room and sniffed around Hunter and nudged at his fist.

"Hunter open your fist." Darius kneeled down next to Hunter and took his fist, and slightly tried prying it open.

"Darius! I'm fine really, I'm just a bit stressed about... everything going on, you know.? So there is definitely nothing to worry about! Also shouldn't you guys be working on the rebellion?" Eberwolf and Darius exchanged looks as Hunter asked about the rebellion.

"We got all the planning done so now we can actually check up on you kids, make sure you guys aren't dying or killing each other. Now are you sure you're okay little Prince?" Darius gave Hunter a look of concern as Hunter looked away.

"Yeah I'm fine, its not like I can die now right?" Hunter waved his hands then realised that he opened his fist, he quickly clenched his fist but Darius held abomination goo in his hand to keep it from closing.

"You're bleeding, and you didn't want to tell me?" Darius sat next to Hunter and inspected his hand more. "There's no cut, and you don't seem to be bleeding from anywhere, what happened?"

Hunters mind raced with thoughts of what he thought that he should say, what lie would make sense to say out loud. His head started to mess with him, like a normal mold (idk how to spell the actual sickness). He leaned his head on the bedpost and sat there not answering or looking at Darius and Eberwolf. At least he thought Eberwolf was still there, he wasn't completely sure but it didn't matter that much.

"Hunter, can you please say something?" He looked over and Darius was concerned about Hunter, and Hunter could tell it was genuine.

"Fine, I'm.. I think I've fallen sick. But it's nothing to worry about." Darius noticed that Hunter was extremely tired, and assumed that this has been going in for quite some time. He may have been pushing himself too much when he first got sick, that may have made it worse.

"Come here.." Darius wrapped Hunter in his arms and kept him there until he felt Hunters body get less tense. "You need to rest, I don't want to hear that you aren't, or that you need to help. What you need now is rest or you won't get better. I want to keep you safe, so if this means to have you sleep while we do everything, I'll do it." Darius stroked Hunter's hair as the blonde started to doze off.

"I'll be fine.." Hunter couldn't finish his sentence because he was asleep soon enough. Darius didn't move but he only changed his position to where him and Hunter can be more comfortable.

"Don't worry little Prince, after the day of unity, we'll be out of this hell.. I hope."
