"Aurora! You have a letter" Ma screamed joyfully.
I rushed, throwing my book onto my bed. She gave me it, burgundy wax with a large 'H' sealed the envelope. I turned the envelope around.

651 Williams Way, New Braunfels, TX
Aurora Mirella Thornsbury

I ripped the envelope carefully, a small, bright card had pretty handwriting on it.

Dear Miss Thornsbury,
The Members of the Scholarship Review Committee are very glad to inform you that you'll be attending Heights Country Day High School on 24th August 2020.
We wish you luck!

I squealed, my mother smiled brightly.
"You got in ?" She prayed, placing her coffee on the mahogany, round table. I nodded cheerfully as she shrieked, both of us jumping up and down. She hugged me, kissing my head many times. I couldn't believe it! I was going to one of the best schools in Texas.

20th August, only four more days. I had my stuff ready. My uniform: two burgundy blazers with the school motto in Latin, three pleated skirts, three white short-sleeved dress shirts and two long sleeved ones, a pair of polish black doc martens, five pairs of black, thin tights, five pairs of high-knee socked and low ones, two ties, two sweater-vests in burgundy with the school motto. Maybe Ma was more excited than I was... She also bought me three black A4 notebooks in those spiral spines, a pack of ten blue pens and ten black ones, five pack highlighters and other stuff like a ruler, pencils etc. I would probably end up with one pen at the end of the year but thanks Ma!

"I can't believe you're leaving us!" Aveen whined, slumping down on my chair.
I chuckled, sipping on my black coffee.
We decided to hang out on the Saturday before the first week of school.

Lola sat down on Ant's lap, Lola sat in between me and Max, Aveen was next to Lucian, opposite me. I caught a glimpse of Lucian staring at me as he started to pay his attention to Aveen, who was ranting about how boring school will be without me.

"Remember the time you made an experiment explode and Stacey's notebook was on fire?!" Aveen exclaimed, laughing at the memory.

I remembered it, it was a Monday and we had science. Mr Clark showed something and my partner- Stacey Browne- was so smart that she put her notebook near it. I added sodium and potassium into the water, not knowing that it'll explode and then her notebook burned. I got detention then, even though it was partly her fault...

I won't lie, I was really sad that I would leave my friends in St. Louise's but they had each other. We promised each other that we wouldn't leave each other out, no matter what. I hope we'll all get to keep that promise.
