~9~

Curry, Salad, Camping, Tug of War and the Creep of the Forest.

"I guess you could put that." I said before the girl in our group trotted to the table with chopping board to chop the carrots.

"How about this?" The soccer guy holding a lettuce -also from our group- asked me too. Before I managed to answer, someone poked me to ask if it would be okay to put cheese which I declined.

I felt a pat on my shoulder and turned to Lily holding a cake with the same question like the boy earlier whom I haven't given my answer to.

Of course, I felt another pat and turned to Nate (unfortunately on my group too) holding two cucumbers.

I put my knife on the chopping board with a bang and faced my group mates with a bewildered expression while saying, "Seriously guys! We're not making a salad!"

"Who says we are?" Nate asked, "Aren't we making curry?" I  bet that he doesn't even know what curry is. Yes, I'm that confident and unconfident about Nate.

"Lettuce, cheese, AND cucumbers are NOT ingredients for curry. " I sighed, frustrated. I turned to Lily with a warning look while pointing at what she's holding, "And no cakes either." She sighed sadly and took a sit on one of the chairs lined up along the sides of a long table.

I turned to look at the other groups and surprisingly they're doing well. Though I just saw a group with lackey group mates a while ago, it still feels recharging to know almost everyone is participating.

So here's the thing;

Last week, there was an announcement about an educational field trip for juniors-which actually turned more like camping and a boy and girl scout combined- a week from then; today.

Three days and two nights out in the mountains away from civilization. Not to mention we are instructed to cook our own meals which is a bad idea as I'm paired with Nate who can't even boil a water to save his dog's life. Though I have other group mates, it's him I worry the most.

And dog I say? He owns a pitbull that is named 'Og'. Yes you heard me right. Lame name I know but he had it since he was two, so imagine the horror of being named by a kid who can't barely speak. It was actually meant to be Nate calling him 'Dog' but that's what it does to you when you're dealing with toddlers. How the dog managed to stay alive until now -with a lame name- I don't know.

Moving on from Nate's love of his life, as he'd like to call it, we are also paired in groups with five members each.

This will only last until the 'educational trip' is over. I was put in a group with Nate (unfortunately), a soccer guy from my geometry class, a petite girl from Lily's chemistry class and lastly Lily herself. I don't know what to feel about it but all I know is that it's kinda... pleasing.

Okay, I admit; the moment I heard she's in my group, it's like there are angels singing in my head and two thoughts on my mind: 'Best freaking day, ever.' and 'god or whoever you are responsible for this, thank you!!'. I really wanna shout the latter but I decided to save myself from humiliation and embarrassment.

"What's curry?" Nate asked, unsurprisingly. I sighed while I shook my head and question how I became buddies with him again.

The petite girl from Lily's chemistry class looked at him annoyed. "Boys." I heard her muttered.

Nate, of course didn't take it easy, "What?"

"All you guys do is eat and eat and eat. Not even considering what was laid in front of you. Your repulsiveness is enough to kill you guys without you knowing it." She replied, still annoyed.
