Surprise, surprise!
" Coward."
" Shut up Nate." I grumpily replied while burying my head on my crossed arms at the desk.
" What?" He exclaimed. " It's the truth."
I slumped on my chair and looked at him lazily. First thing in the morning and this is what I get. A rant from an immature teenager. " Whatever."
" It's just a party you know? Going there won't hurt." He said in a matter-of-fact tone which I find quite amusing. What do you know? Anything can happen at a party. It's full of annoying and wild teenagers. Don't forget their hormones are at peak.
I sighed and asked, " Nate, do you care about your future?"
He looked confused but nodded still.
" Going to parties doesn't actually bear a good future for people." I said in a wise manner. God, I never felt so damn smart in my life.
Nate tried to hide his laugh but failed eventually. " Cyrus Adlard. What's gotten to that thick head of yours?" He asked me, laughing barely hidden.
I glared and said nonchalantly, " Brain large enough than yours; and maturity which is clearly not present in you now."
" That's mean."
" I'm being honest."
We stared at each other for a minute without spilling any word and eventually, we sighed together as he spoke, " Whatever."
As we walk along the hallways, we continued to talk and discuss random things but it's still in Nate, that he clearly wants me at that party. I don't know if he just wants to hang out with me or just wants to show me off. Really, I don't have any idea what I should feel for this. Should I feel happy, cry or what?
" Cy, let's hang out. School's out now anyway."
" Can't." I quickly replied.
He raised his eyebrow while looking at me. " Why? Don't tell me you're seeing a chick? Oh man, thought we're friends!" He accused.
I ceased my brows and replied, " Sorry to disappoint you but no. It's actually the old woman's fault."
" Why so? Curfew?" He teased. You!
I snapped. " She applied me for a part time job, moron." He may be my friend but anytime now, I'll be hugging him. Hugging his neck by my hands and strangle him. " You're the worst. " I muttered, still angry and pissed.
He seemed shocked for a minute but then grab my shoulders by his hands and laughed. Really? Laughing? This person! Argh.I swatted his hand away and glared at him. " Cy, you're really fun to tease. You're easily tempered. " He laughed. Again.
I huffed as he kept on laughing at me which is NOT amusing. I'm in high school now and I'm still bullied? For Pete's sake! " Grow up Nate. " I said angrily and continue to make my way outside.
" So, what job will it be?" Nate asked as he walk towards his car and made his car beep indicating the doors are unlocked. The car's shiny and richly polished. Don't forget to notice it's black now unlike what he usually drives to and from school.. This must be the new car his dad gave him. Rich guy.
I glanced at him as I too, brought out my car's remote and pushed the button; unlocking it too. " Hey, is that daddy's present?" I asked, point at it. He nodded and gave me a smug smile which I'll gladly wipe by my fist landing on it. This guy can be pretty full of himself sometimes.
