Chapter 3: Finding Friends From Fights
*****

"Deku." Bakugo glared down the timid boy who had just walked in. His green messy hair looked suspiciously like broccoli.

"Deku?" you asked. You thought you were the one arguing with Bakugo, why does he have to bring someone else in? It was just getting fun.

"K-Kacchan..." The scared boy said shyly.

"Kacchan?" you laughed out. "I thought your name was Katsuki?" Oh no, what is this cute nickname?

On the other hand, Bakugo was just getting angrier. You decided to take your finger off of him, you didn't think you needed Feeling Check when his emotions were clearly displayed on his face.

'Kacchan' didn't take his eyes off Deku, even though just a few seconds before he was yelling at you. For some odd reason, you didn't like this. You marched in-between Deku and Bakugo and put your hands on your hips. "We aren't done here, Kacchan." you mocked. His brow twitched and he looked mad from anger.

"Miss (L/n)! Please, what happened to not starting fights on the first day of school?" Iida came rushing to your side. He placed a hand on the back of your shoulder.

"Get the hell out of my way!" Bakugo yelled, again.

"Make me." during your argument, the rest of the class took notice. Most students were surrounding you, Bakugo, and Deku. The ones who entered the class later hovered around the door.

He took a step forward while saying, "Just because you're a girl doesn't mean I'll hold back.

You noticed Bakugo's hand to his side sputtering? No, sparking. A spark? A mischievous glint washed over your eyes. You slyly held out your hand, pointing it at Bakugo. All of a sudden, the sparks from his hand stopped and he took immediate notice. You had 'nulled' the oxygen on an atomic level, just in the direct vicinity. They wouldn't react with a thing. Oxygen was involved in lots of chemical reactions, so taking it out of the equation would make a big difference.

"What's wrong? Quirk not working?" you fake frowned. You knew you really should have stopped earlier. In fact, even introducing yourself to him would have been a mistake in your parent's eyes.

Bakugo wanted to be the best, and you didn't doubt he probably was. But if his Quirk could trigger sparks or fire, he was an easy target.

Just as things were heating up, an overwhelming presence loomed over you two. Iida back away cautiously. Bakugo shifted his gaze from you to whatever was behind you. You slowly turned around.

A large yellow..thing towered over you, a man with a creepy face stared down at you and Bakugo, two troublemakers.

"Is that the teacher?" one student whispered.

Another chirped up, "No, I think that guy is homeless."

"They're in so much trouble."

"But wasn't she defending that boy?"

The man scarily smiled. "Silence." everyone immediately hushed. He held a terrifying presence. "I don't suppose you two are fighting?" He asked simply. You gulped.

"N-no! We.. Uh, we were-" you scrambled to think of an excuse. You fully believed this guy would expel you on the first day of school.

"That's good, because I'm ready to sleep. Everyone, to your seats." he ordered. In an instant everyone was sitting down. You and Bakugo sat in the seat closest to you two, which meant he was seated right behind you. A small part of you was instantly regretting everything as you felt a glare on your back. Yep. This is going to be the rest of the school year.

"My name is Shota Aizawa and I will be your Homeroom Teacher. Great, now that that's out of the way, we're going to take a test." He said, slipping out of the yellow sleeping bag and walking to the front of the class.

"Um, sir? What about orientation? We can't miss it." a girl raised her hand and made a good point.

"Yeah? Who cares. I teach the class however I want. Now, for this test, you will need special clothes. They're all right here." he said. The class gaped while he randomly pulled out a gym uniform from his sleeping bag. "Get dressed."

Is this real? What kind of teacher is he?

"That was so brave of you! What you did before class, I mean. That guy seemed super angry, like he got a stick up his butt." A girl came up to you in the changing room. Her hair and skin were a pretty shade of pink and she had antenna-horns?- on her head.

You blushed and looked away. "You think so? I just felt like pissing him off for acting so rude, I didn't mean for it to escalate the way it did..." you said quietly and scratched your cheek. You really thought it was reckless of yourself.

"Nah, come on! I bet that small, geeky kid was super thankful. It looked like Mr. Angry Boy was gonna kill him!" she laughed.

"Oh," you said to yourself, "I forgot about him."

"Anyways.." The girl linked an arm with you and led you to the door, towards the training yard. "I'm Mina Ashido, but you can call me Mina." she quickly shook your hand to continue walking next to your side.

It felt a bit snoopy a times to use Feeling Check without other people's permission or them not even knowing. The thought made you bite your cheek, there had to be some sort of moral dilemma you were missing.

"I'm (F/n) (L/n)." you smiled back. Her emotions ran through you. Excitement, respect. She felt mischievous and was looking for something fun.

"(F/n) it is then." she said, causing you to chuckle.

Another girl exited the room behind you two. "Man, I can't believe we have to take a test on the first day of class. This sucks."

"Think of everything as something to learn from!" A girl with a black ponytail cheerfully left through the changing behind her. "We'll probably be honing our Quirks!" She had determination and eagerness written all over her face, no need for Feeling Check.

"Hey, Mina." you tugged on her arm. "What's your Quirk?" she smiled slyly. Jumping in front of you, she held up her arms as a sticky, weird goop excreted and dripped down her hands.

"I can make acid from my body." she gave a mock evil laugh while the dangerous substance fell to the ground in front of you. The small drips on the ground sizzled.

"Er..." you suddenly remembered Mina linking arms with you seconds before. "I'll make sure to take note."

She shook her arms to remove the acid from them. "Anyway what's yours? I noticed back in the classroom you did something to Bakugo's quirk, but it was like, invisible!"

Another girl joined your side, popping up from behind. "Yes, I noticed something like that as well during the confrontation with the foul-mouthed student. Momo Yaoyorozu, by the way." she held out her hand and you firmly shook it. Curiosity. Eagerness. You slightly frowned but just as quickly picked up a smile. You didn't have a choice in using Feeling Check, which meant times when you had no interest in reading people were forced upon you instead.

"My quirk is O2 Manipulation. I can control oxygen at an atomic level." You explained simply. Momo seemed quite interested.

"Huh? But how did that stop Bakugo's quirk?" Mina looked confused but you weren't surprised.

Yaoyorozu jumped in excitedly. "I understand! If Bakugo's quirk was based around fire or some type of chain reaction, then taking oxygen out of the equation would nullify it! How intuitive, but for sure a gamble." she ended in a scolding. Ah, there's the lecture. "My quirk is Creation. I can create anything as long as I understand its molecular structure."

"Hm, that's an extremely useful ability." you complimented.

"Hey, hey, why does this conversation feel like it's turning into a science class?" Mina interrupted. Her bored face caused you to laugh.

Maybe today won't be so bad.
