Lan Wangji was still recovering from the 400 strikes he had received two days ago. His back was all wounded and it took a little longer to heal. He could not sit straight for very long and could not strain himself with much movements.

Lan Wangji was now in the Jinghshi, meditating on his bed with his back leaned on the bed headboard when he heard footsteps outside his residence. Lan Wangji knew that it would none other than his brother or uncle. So he waited still until whoever it was, come up to him.

"Wangji," Lan Xichen's voice through the silent hall.

"Brother," Lan Wangji called, as he saw his brother enter his private chamber behind the partition.

"How are you doing?" Lan Xichen questioned.

"Better." Lan Wangji stated.

"I sent you dinner. Did you have it?"

"Yes, thank you."

"There is no need to thank me. I am glad that you had your dinner. By the way, I came here to say something important to you."

Lan Wangji narrowed his brows but kept silent and waited for his brother to continue. Lan Xichen looked at him, and then continued,

"Wangji, as you know, in a three days, Young Master Wei and you will be married to each other."

Lan Wangji sighed. He knew it way too well and he did not want to be reminded of it, again and again. Not answering his brother, Lan Wangji hummed, indicating that he was listening and a silent approval for his brother to continue.

"After the marriage, you two would have to live together."

Lan Wangji's breath hitched. It wasn't like he did not know that married couples live together but the tonight of living together with Wei Wuxian made him feel something that he could not put into words.

"So, uncle sent me to ask you, if you would like to stay here along with Young Master Wei or would you want us to arrange him some other residence for him to live in."

Lan Wangji instantly realized what his uncle had meant. His uncle had asked if he wanted to live together with Wei Wuxian or not. He did not know the answer himself but if he was married to Wei Wuxian, he would not let Wei Wuxian to live away from him. Just how his parents had lived. Away from each other. He will not let the history repeat. So he said,

"We would live together."

"Wangji, are you sure?" Lan Xichen asked, trying to make sure that his brother was sane.

"Yes." Lan Wangji affirmed.

"There is no need to hurry. You could think over it."

"Brother, if Wei Ying decides to stay in Gusu until the classes are over, then he will be living with me here, in Jinghshi. If he decides to leave to Yunmeng, after the marriage, then I will follow him there."

"What about the classes, then?" Lan Xichen questioned.

"Wei Ying knows the best." Lan Wangji replied, not believing if it was him speaking.

Lan Xichen sighed. It seemed like his brother had already decided and was not ready for any sort of convincing. So he said,

"Alright then, I will talk to Young Master Wei then. If he too agrees to live with you here, then, I will ask the servants to move in his things here. Okay?"

"Mn."

"Good night then. Rest well." Lan Xichen said, getting up to leave.

"Good night, brother."

Once alone, Lan Wangji recalled the conversation with his brother that he had just now. Thinking back on it, he wasn't sure if Wei Wuxian would want to stay in Cloud Recesses anymore. He would not want to be bound by rules anymore. Most probably, he would return to Yunmeng, now that he had got an opportunity to go back.

Lan Wangji thought back on what Jiang Cheng had said earlier that day when he had visited him along with Jiang Yanli.

Jiang Yanli has asked, "Second Master Wang, how are feeling now? I have brought you some Lotus Rob soup. Have some, you would like it."

"Thank you, Maiden Jiang. And I am doing good too." Lan Wangji hd replied.

"Of course you would do good. Aren't you the Second Master Lan, after all?"

"A-Cheng!" Jiang Yanli had intervened but Lan Wangji had said,

"I am afraid I don't understand what Young Master Jiang means."

"Second Master Lan, he doesn't...."

"What else would I mean?" Jiang Cheng had spat, "If it had been Wei Wuxian, you Lan's would have punished him harshly. But since it was you, they wouldn't have exerted much force on you so of course you would be doing good."

"We Lan's do not..." Jiang Yanli had cut Lan Wangji off.

"Second Master Lan, please don't mind his words. He does not mean anything he said. A-Cheng, apologies to Second Master Lan right now."

"Hmph, in his dreams!"

"A-Cheng, we should not forget that Second Master Lan saved A-Xian's life."

"A-Jie, Wei Wuxian would love to be dead than marry him!"

With that, Jiang Cheng had stormed off. Lan Wangji's heart had froze hearing those words. It had stabbed him deep abs he knew for once, Jiang Cheng was correct. He was true. Very true!

Jiang Yanli had tried to convince him later but Lan Wangji could not get off his mind from Jiang Cheng's words.

Although Lan Wangji did not know what was going in Wei Wuxian's mind right now, he knew that he would be the least person to like to marry him. Wei Wuxian would never want to marry someone like him even in his dreams!

Lan Wangji was never the type of person to cry. To let down his tears. But right now, he could not help it. He could not help his tears.

There was just three days more for the marriage and after the marriage he would not only ruin his life but Wei Wuxian's too!

Just that thought made him feel like dying!
