It was almost past Lan's seeping time and Wei Wuxian could feel Lan Wangji growing tired beside him.
"Have some tea. It will help you stay awake a little longer." Wei Wuxian said beside him.
"I already had." Lan Wangji said, his eyes closing on its own accord.
"It's a pity that there is no wine." Wei Wuxian commented to himself.
"Alcohol is forbidden." Lan Wangji reminded and Wei Wuxian huffed at that.
"Most of the guests are leaving. The ceremony is over. We could retreat if you are tired."
"It's improper."
"Who cares?!" Wei Wuxian muttered to himself and held Lan Wangji's hand, pulling him along with him, towards Lan Xichen.
"Zewu Jun," Wei Wuxian said once they had reached him, "Lan Zh- Wangji is tired. I am taking him back to his residence. Please excuse us."
Wei Wuxian bowed to Lan Xichen and without waiting for his reply, he dragged Lan Wangji away from the crowd and into the silence of the Cloud Recesses.
Lan Wangji was too tired to protest so he complied along.
All the way back to Jingshi, it was inevitable for Lan Wangji to taje his eyes off his hand, which was in a tight grasp by Wei Wuxian. Lan Wangji had never liked physical contacts and he had always avoided it. But Wei Wuxian was different. Not matter how much he tried, he could not avoid Wei Wuxian or Wei Wuxian would not let him to be avoided. Wei Wuxian had been different since the beginning and now, their relationship has changed very much.

The Quiet Room (Jingshi) is Lan Wangji's private residence in the Cloud Recesses. It is a secluded place dedicated to study and meditation, located somewhere in the Back Mountains of the Lan Sect's domain.
The furniture in the jingshi was extremely simplistic, without any unnecessary belongings. On the accordion partition, there was a painting of drifting clouds, floating and morphing with its fine brushwork. A guqin table lay horizontally in front of it. On top of the three-legged incense stand in the corner, a hollowed out incense burner made of white jade emitted soft, lingering smoke, filling the whole room with the chilling scent of sandalwood.
The refreshing scent of the sandalwood was cold and clear. Although it wasn't sentimental, it had its own way of tugging one's heartstrings.
"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji called out to him, once they were finally alone in Jingshi.
"Mn?" Wei Wuxian asked in a daze, looking around at Jingshi, admiring its beauty.
"Welcome to my... our home."
Wei Wuxian gave him a quick glance and sighed. "It's past nine. Get yourself changed and have some sleep."
With that said, Wei Wuxian turned around to leave. Lan Wangji was puzzled.
"Where are you going?" Lan Wangji asked hurriedly.
"No where. I will be waiting outside."
"You could sit inside."
"I don't want to disturb you. You could call me in when you are done with your work."
"I will be changing in the room. You can wait in here."
"No need." And before Lan Wangji could say anything, Wei Wuxian stormed out.
Lan Wangji stood in the middle of his home feeling dejected for a reason that he did not know. Not wanting to waste any more time, he went to his room and began undressing himself from the wedding robes. It took him a while to remove all his ornaments and hair clips and w by en he was finally done, he slipped on his normal white inner robe and went to the door, to call in Wei Wuxian.
He went into the garden but there was no sign of Wei Wuxian. He instantly began panicking, thinking that Wei Wuxian had left him alone on their wedding night.
"Wei Ying." He called out, trying to sound calm.
"You are done?" A voice sounded behind him and he turned around, to see Wei Wuxian flying down from the roof.
"I thought you left." Words slipped out before he could even shut himself.
Wei Wuxian sighed for the nth time that day and Lan Wangji could not help but blame himself for it. Lan Wangji expected a reply from Wei Wuxian but he did not get one. Lan Wangji had already begun to feel Wei Wuxian was changing from the one that he had met first. And it ached him very much. He wanted the old Wei Ying back!
"Come in." Lan Wangji beckoned.
Wei Wuxian wordlessly followed Lan Wangji in.
"Change yourself. The room is in the right when you pass over the partition. I will be back after a bath."
"You do not have to share your room with me. I can get changed here."
"I have already arranged your clothes in the cupboard. Come in, let me show you." Lan Wangji said, ignoring Wei Wuxian's words.
"Here," Lan Wangji opened the cupboard when they were in the room and showed it to Wei Wuxian, "Your dresses are in the left."
"You did not have to do this." Wei Wuxian remarked.
"I wanted to." Lan Wangji replied simply.
"Lan Wangji, you..."
Lan Wangji did not want Wei Wuxian to finish whatever he was saying. He was tired of hearing excuses so he said, "I will be back." And with that he was off.
Wei Wuxian stood in the middle of Lan Wangji's room, his heart feeling something that he had never felt before. Lan Xichen had told him that he would ask the servants to move Wei Wuxian's belongings to Jingshi and he thought that his things would just be put in a corner and that he would have to arrange them in a corner of Jinshgi after marriage. But now that he looked around, his belongings were nearly arranged and kept in Jingshi. It seemed as if it had always been here.
Wei Wuxian began to disrobe himself. He was never known for tidiness so he just threw away each layer on the bed, not caring where it fell. It took him a very long time to undress himself off some layers. Wei Wuxian still had a remaining layer on top of his inner layer.
Wei Wuxian groaned. He had been fidgeting with this for very long and it was getting on his nerves now.
"Do you need help?"
