Wen Chao yelled at the Wen guards who stood by the cell like room door of Lan Wangji for letting Wei Wuxian enter. He then asked them to take Wei Wuxian to the underground dungeon saying that he had some business to speak with Wei Wuxian.

Wei Wuxian glanced behind him to make sure that Wen Chao was following them and did not enter Lan Wangji's room. He breathed a sigh of relief. At least, Lan Wangji was safe for now. Jiang Cheng would keep him safe later, as much as he could.

Wei Wuxian kept silent until they reached the underground dungeon. It wasn't like he did not want to flee from this nasty place but the more he stirs trouble, the more Lan Wangji would be in trouble. It was best it he remained silent. He could figure out a way to escape later.

Wei Wuxian thought that he would be brought into the same dungeon as earlier in which he was locked up with that ferocious wolf. He had already figured out some ways to save himself for it.

But what he did not expect was to take his to the underground which was pitch dark and only had some candlelight here and there along the way.

The Dungeon was a long, and dark hallway. The ground was covered in pieces of rock, shards of glass, dirt in some places and sand in others. There were doors on either side, but Wei Wuxian realized that they would just lead to more endless hallways same as this. . It was quiet in the hallway, the same quiet that comes with the snowfall when every living animal is hiding at home where it's warm. The Dungeon looked like a living hell.

Wei Wuxian was thrown by the guards to the farthest corner of the wide hall accompanied by a roaring laughter from Wen Chao. Wen Zhuliu stood behind him with a smirk plastered on his ugly face.

"Wei Wuxian," Wen Chao mocked. "Weren't you speaking so highly a little while ago, now what? Are you so scared that words wouldn't come out?"

Wen Chao laughed and it made a disturbing noise in the quiet hall. It was so creepy.

"People like you who rely on their clans just to make yourselves known, must he killed!" Wen Chao sneered.

Suddenly, an amused voice drifted over: "That's right. These people that rely on their clan's might to commit crimes really should be killed. Not only do they need to be killed, they need to be beheaded and vilified, to serve as a warning to later generations."

Upon hearing this, Wen Chao immediately turned his head and hissed, "What did you say?"

Wei WuXian replied with fake astonishment in his voice: "Do you need me to repeat myself? Alright. These people that rely on their clan's might to commit crimes really should be killed. Not only do they need to be killed, they need to be beheaded and vilified, to serve as a warning to later generations. Did you get it this time?"

Upon hearing this, Wen ZhuLiu turned his gaze toward Wei WuXian, a pensive look on his face. Wen Chao was furious as he snarled, "You dare to spout this type of nonsensical, unthinkable bullshit?!"

Wei WuXian let a 'pbbbt' before finally exploding into laughter.

Everyone looked on in stunned amazement and Wei Wuxian tried to speak while still laughing uproariously. "Nonsensical? Unthinkable? Nah, I think the one who's doing that is you! Wen Chao, do you know where that quote of mine came from? Let me tell you. Those words were said by the first head of your family – the famously famous cultivator, Wen Mao. You dare to insult your family patriarch's words by calling them nonsensical and unthinkable? What a great insult! Truly amazing! Hahahahaha!"

While Wen Chao had been 'educating' them these past few days, he passed out these 'The Essence of the Wen Sect' pamphlets. They were filled to the brim with the glorious deeds and quotes from past Wen clan leaders and famous cultivators. Everyone was ordered to read and re-read it until it was so engraved in their minds that they could recite it from memory. Wei WuXian had flipped through it twice and was so very disgusted that they could artificially derive such deep and extravagant meanings from some ordinary phrases. But he remembered Wen Mao's quote, clear as day, because it was just so damn ironic.

Wen Chao's face alternated between red and white. Wei WuXian continued, "Oh yeah, what's the charge for insulting a famous Wen cultivator? How should they punished? I seem to recall that it was kill on sight, right? Hmn, very good. You can go die now."

Wen Chao couldn't stand it any longer and rushed to stab Wei WuXian with his sword. However, this moved him outside of Wen ZhuLiu's protective radius.

Wen ZhuLiu was used to protecting Wen Chao from others' attacks, so he couldn't react in time to Wen Chao's sudden advance. Wei WuXian had purposefully riled him up so that he would lose control. The smile on Wei WuXian's face didn't fade as he reached out with a lightning-fast hand to avoid the sword aimed at him while simultaneously capturing Wen Chao!

Every other guards suddenly rushed towards him, aiming their swords at Wei Wuxian. But Wei Wuxian did not care of them.

Once he had a hold of Wen Chao, he leapt around until he finally stood in the other corner of the hall. With some distance between him and the crowd, he used his free hand to press Wen Chao's sword against its master's neck. "Everyone stop. Keep moving, and I might just let your precious Young Master Wen bleed!"

Wen Chao cried out in extreme grief: "Stop moving! Stop moving!"

Wei WuXian shouted: "Don't move either, Core Melting Hand! You guys know how bad the Wen clan leader's temper is. If your master bleeds even a little under my control, then everyone here, including you Wen sect members, will be dead in no time!"

Miraculously, Wen ZhuLiu retracted his hand. Upon seeing that he had control over the situation, Wei WuXian said nothing more. He just looked at Wen Chao, smugly.
