Wei Wuxian's heart stuttered. He was clueless on how he was supposed to hell his husband feel better right now.

He tried to not think of that disgusting Wen Chao and paid his full attention on Lan Wangji. He racked his brain for a solution which took more than few minutes and finally he spoke.

"Ah, you can... uh," Wei Wuxian pursed his lips thoughtfully, not knowing if he was saying the right thing. "Satisfy yourself? Don't worry, I'll go over to that corner."

He immediately got up to leave. But a hand shot out to grab his wrist.

"Don't," Lan Wangji said, teeth clenched.

"Huh?"

"I don't..." Lan Wangji hesitated. "I don't pleasure myself."

"Oh." Wei Wuxian mouthed, puzzled. Wasn't he a human after all? Were the Lan's so righteous?

"You don't have to leave. I will be fine." Lan Wangji said but Wei Wuxian clearly saw some sadness hidden behind Lan Wangji's voice.

"Ah." Wei Wuxian settled back down, trying to ignore his thought. He turned his head to look at Lan Wangji and saw his husband's pain-wrought face. To anyone else, Lan Wangji would have seemed only mildly inconvenienced. But for Lan Wangji to express even that much meant that he was suffering deeply.

"Lan Zhan, what do you usually do to cope with... With sexual desire?" Wei Wuxian asked, trying to sound as normal as he could.

"Meditation. Cleansing music," Lan Wangji sighed almost imperceptibly. "Tea."

Wei Wuxian's eyes widened but he nodded slowly. "The Gusu-Lan Sect practices restraint to that extent, huh?"

He could tell Lan Wangji was starting to suffer more. Wei Wuxian felt helpless. He just wanted to make his husband feel better!

"Not all do. It is acceptable to... take care of oneself but..."

"But you don't?" Wei Wuxian finished.

Wei Wuxian's mind reeled. If he was allowed to indulge in self-pleasure, why would Lan Wangji deny himself even that flimsy relief? He couldn't imagine practicing that level of restraint. Imagining how Lan Wangji must be feeling right now made him wince.

"You're amazing, Lan Zhan," he huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. Doing so made him inhale the scent of Lan Wangji's scent, and strangely felt his belly stir with arousal. Huh?

He couldn't lie about how attractive his husband was. Lan Wangji was peerless in his beauty, anyone could see that. Wei Wuxian was helplessly drawn to his jade-like skin, golden eyes, and intimidating countenance. When Lan Wangji tilted his head back and closed his eyes, Wei Wuxian's heart began to beat wildly. He did feel bad for his husband but he swore to himself that he would not take advantage of Lan Wangji right now.

But...

Lan Wangji was his husband. It wasn't wrong even if they...

No! Wei Wuxian stopped his thoughts. Even if Lan Wangji was his husband, he wasn't very sober right now.

Wei Wuxian drew in a breath. His eyes travelled the room, looking for anything that might be of use as a weapon. The lamps hang from chains; the table could be dismantled, some pieces long enough to serve as crude spears.

"We can improvise weaponry so that no one, especially Wen Chao, cannot get close to you." he said.

But Lan Wangji was injured, he thought, tasting bitterness in the back of his throat. Qi drained, useless— They cannot do much.

It killed Wei Wuxian to think it.

"It wouldn't work." Lan Wangji said.

Wei Wuxian knew it.

With no swords, they couldn't. And even if they could...

Except for Lan Wangji, they are all here as hostages for their sects' submission. Even if Jin Zixuan were willing to risk the lives of his entire sect to keep Wen Chao from—

Wei Wuxian couldn't ask him to. Neither could Wei Wuxian endanger Yunmeng Jiang in that way.

"You are my husband." Lan Wangji said, cutting off all the thoughts from Wei Wuxian's mind.

It was strangely difficult to draw a full breath for Wei Wuxian after what Lan Wangji had just said. He understood what was Lan Wangji trying to imply.

"Lan Zhan, let's think for a solution to keep Wen Chao away now." Wei Wuxian said, not looking into Lan Wangji's eyes.

"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji called, his heart aching at the fact that Wei Wuxian wasn't yet ready to be intimate with him.

"Lan Zhan, please!" Wei Wuxian snapped. "Don't tell anything anymore. I will figure out a solution on my own. I am not that low to take advantage of you when you are not in the right state."

"Wei Ying. I am willing." Lan Wangji tried.

'More than willing' His heart screamed. There was, nothing else that he could want in his entire life.

"You are not sober." Wei Wuxian said.

Lan Wangji blinked, taken aback.

Wei WuXian's hands clench; it felt as if his knuckles would punch through his skin. "I will not allow that," he said. But he knew it was an empty promise. He knew that he would n I t be able to resist for very much long.

"I am sober. The medicine has not effected me very much yet so I know what I am speaking." Lan Wangji tried to convince Wei Wuxian, amazed at himself for being so eloquent right now.

Wei Wuxian stared at the floor, unseeing, as his mind worked to confront the enormity of that thought. When he can again bear to look at Lan Wangji, Lan Wangji was staring back at him, filled with unspoken emotions.

"Lan Zhan, may be I should go to Wen Qing. May be she could have an antidote for it."

"Why? Why do you not want to..." Lan Wangji's words struck up on him, choking, his tears flowing down.

"Lan Zhan, no! You got the wrong idea. Lan'er, please... Don't cry."

"Why?" Lan Wangji repeated.

"I just wanted you to be clear headed."

"I am." More tears flowed down Lan Wangji's cheeks.

"I..." Wei Wuxian sucked in a deeo breath, and said finally, "Alright, I will do it. I mean, let's... Let's do it."
