Chapter 9- A Shucking Maze

A/N: slight spice 🌶️ warning towards the end. 

Minho had just left to take Ben to the med-hut to get his ankle looked at to make sure he could still run with them. Newt and Rey have left to the gathering hut with Alby to give the rundown of what happened out there. 

"So while we wait for Min-" Alby got interrupted by Minho bursting through the huts door. "Clint and Jeff said he'll need to heal for a few days because luckily all he did was slice his ankle open. What were you talking about?" Minho asked out of breath. "Alby was about to ask Newt and I what we found" Rey answered Minho.

"Okay, so Newt what did you and Rey find out there?" Alby continued from before.  "Well..." Newt started. "The first thing we noticed was on a few of the walls read W.C.K.D or WORLD CATASTROPHE KILLZONE DEPARTMENT which we didn't think anything of at first until Rey pointed out that there the same letter we get on our supplies from the box." Rey continued on from Newt saying "I realised half way through that there were some parts that were blocked off by other walls because i picked up on the fact that the ground had tracks that i think indicate that the walls might move."

"Alright thats strange, Minho about you, what did you and Ben find?" Alby asked the boy. "Well we also picked up on the letters and words on the walls, we think that whoever put us here made whats out there. But we also saw a big red number 7.  So i don't know what that means but i'm going back out there tomorrow and see what else is in that part of it." Minho added his finds. 

"What else did y'all discover out there?" Alby wondered.

"It's a maze Alby" Newt said
"It's a shucking maze that these freaking creators threw us into" The twins yelled at the same time. 

The comments from the three teens absolutely flustered the leader. Alby looked at the kids like they were mad or insane.

"Okay, well early morning again tomorrow you three and Minho seeing as Ben needs to take a few days off due to allowing his ankle to heal i'll come out there with you tomorrow. Meet back here straight after dinner because we are gonna turn this into a job, so we need to find out who our keeper will be and if anyone else wants to join us in exploring this new found maze." The leader spoke authoritatively.

Gathering Hut 
When Alby, Newt, Rey, Minho and Ben got back to the gathering hut all the boys including the keeps were already inside. The keepers being Zart, Winston, Gally, Frypan and Clint.

"Okay first order of business is we are welcoming a new job to the glade, Runners which will run the recently discovered maze. At the moment we only have four runners Newt, Rey, Minho and Ben Alby pointed to the four kids standing with him so we need to decide who the keeper will be because we need someone in charge of them, so tonight we are gonna hold a vote between Rey and Minho because currently Bens injured and Newts our second-in-command. Alright Frypan who do you think is right for the job of Keeper?" Alby asked the Keeper of the cooks. 

"Well personally i think we should make them both keeper, that way if one of them has a day off or is injured we will still have a keeper in the maze." The cook gave his opinion while smiling at the twins. 

"Thanks Fry. Gally, your turn." Alby asked the builder.

"I vote for Minho, because she's a girl and we can't have a girl as a keeper." The arrogant builder spat out.

"Hey! Gally i've been here longer than you, i can hold my own!" Rey argued back.

"Thank you Gally." The leader responded coldly.

"I agree with Fry." Winston added

"Same with us." Zart and Clint replied. 

"No, no way. Alby don't even think about it, we can't have a girl has a keeper they arent strong enough for a role that big." Denver opened his big mouth which made Newt boil with rage.

"Enough, Denver. Rey's been here 8 months you've been here 8 days. You aren't the leader nor are you the second-in-command so you have no right to say your two cents out loud, you are not a keeper either therefore your opinion isn't valid, so kindly shut your shank mouth or leave the meeting." Newt retaliated at the boy. 

"Well then, there you have it. Everybody your looking at your new keepers of the runners." Alby said in an attempt to congratulate us. 

Gally left in a huff because he didn't get his way. Nobody even bothered to go after the builder except Denver, everyone else stayed to congratulate their new keepers. 

"Well done you two" Fry said to the twins. 
"Welcome to the keeper team" Winston added"
Zart threw in "congrats you two, it will be nice to have the twins on the team."
"Finally i've been waiting for you two to become the keepers of something" The medjack added.

"Thanks you guys." Minho and Rey said together. 

"Well we'll meet up with y'all later." Rey said to everyone before dragging Newt out to the woods.

The minute the pair were out of sight of the glade Newt grabbed Reys face and softly connected their lips. Slowly Rey moved her hand into Newts dirty blond hair and started playing with it just as Newt gently slid a hand up the back of Reys shirt. Newt then moved them towards a tree until Reys back hit a tree, Rey started to slowly remove her shirt revealing her bra when Newt pulled away and looked into Reys bright blue eyes. "Love...are you sure?" Newt asked his girlfriend and all Rey did in response was smile and nod. When the pair resumed Newt threw off his shirt and started to undo Reys shorts at the same time she took of his pants so they were left standing in the underwear, before Rey knew Newt had picked her up and she had wrapped her legs around his Waist and leaned up against a different tree.

"Love, that was amazing." Newt said while picking his shirt up off the ground. "I know wasn't it" Rey responded absolutely in love with him. 

Rey looked up at her hot british boyfriend and softly whispered "I love you!" "I love you too, Love. We need to go tell Minho before we put it off any longer." The pair starting walking back to the glade holding hands until they could see the green grass and the ivy covered walls in front of them, then they gave each other a quick kiss and let go before they started yelling for the asian-looking boy.
