Everything was chaos. The boxes were falling over. Steve stumbled into you, on accident, and you were pressed against the wall. His face was just inches from yours. Dustin bumped into him, making his lips touch yours for a split second. You both pulled away as fast as possible. "Sorry," you both said in unison. Suddenly, the elevator stopped, Steve fell on you, and you held him up. "So, are we stuck here?" Dustin asked. "Yeah, pretty much," Steve answered. "Just so you nerds know," Erica said, while you climbed to the outside of the elevator, "I'm supposed to be at Tina's. Tina will cover for me, but if I'm not at Uncle Jack's party tomorrow, and my mom finds out that you nerds are responsible, she will hunt you down one-by-one, and slit your throats." "Мне плевать на Тину! Или вечеринка дяди Джека! Твоя мама не может нас найти если мы умрем в русском лифте!" You exclaimed, poking your head down through the hatch door. (I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle Jack's party! Your mom can't find us if we die in a Russian elevator!) "What?" Erica asked. "I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle Jack's party! Your mom's not gonna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!" you repeated. You went back up to the top of the elevator. You spent the rest of the day there, just doing random shit.
At 10:00 p.m., you decided to just read an Agatha Christie book, that you hadn't started yet. It was called "After the Funeral". You were reading out loud up top till Steve came up. The girls, and Dustin, stayed down, inside the elevator. When Steve came up, you kept reading. You were always reading out loud, so you kept the mumbling as quiet as possible. "Whatcha readin'?" Steve asked. "Agatha Christie," you stated simply. "What's it about?" he asked. "Murder Mystery," you answered. "Why're you mumbling?" he asked. "I like to read out loud," you said. "Then, why aren't you?" he asked. "'Cause you're here," you muttered. "Can you read out loud? I can't sleep," he said, making a boo-boo face. "You're an idiot," you chuckled before reading out loud. He fell asleep 10 minutes later. You read all night.
You didn't sleep at all. You had a special football that you slept with that you couldn't sleep without. Technically, you had 3 footballs. One at Hopper's, another at Eddie's, and the other at Billy's. In the morning, you kept reading. "Guys, we got company!" Robin called. "Oh, shit!" you whispered. You shoved everything in your backpack, helped everybody to the top of the elevator, and closed the hatch door. Once you heard the people leave, you all rushed down to the elevator. You grabbed the green vat from earlier and put it under the door to keep it open. Everyone crawled under the door right before you. The high-security door almost smashed you to bits. The green liquid burnt through the floor. "Still wanna drink it?" Robin asked Erica. "Holy Mother of God!" Dustin exclaimed, looking down the hallway. You all followed his gaze. "Well, shit," you muttered. "Hope you guys are in shape," you said, starting to walk down the hallway. Everyone followed close behind.
You had been walking for about half an hour. "I mean, you have to admit, as a feat of engineering alone, this is impressive," Dustin said. "What are you talking about?" Steve asked, "It's a total fire hazard. There's no stairs, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that drops you halfway to hell." "To be fair, I don't think this tunnel was designed for walking," you said, "Think about it, they developed the perfect system for transporting that cargo. It all comes into the mall like any old delivery. And then they load it up onto those trucks and nobody's the wiser." "You think they built this whole mall so they could transport that green poison?" Steve asked. "I very seriously doubt it's something as boring as poison," Dustin said. "Like Promethium or something," you said. "The hell is Promethium?" Steve asked. "It's what Victor Stone's dad used to make Cyborg's bionic and cybernetic components," you and Robin said in sync. "You're all so nerdy, it makes me physically ill," Erica said, making gagging noises. "No, no, no. No, don't lump me in with them. I'm not a nerd, all right?" Steve clarified. "At least we're smart, unlike some people," you chuckled. "No, I'm just saying I don't know jack shit about Prometheus," he said. "Promethium," Robin corrected. "Prometheus is a Greek mythological figure, but whatever. All I'm saying is, it's probably being used to make something." "Or power something," Robin added. "Like a nuclear weapon?" Steve asked. "Definitely," you nodded. "Walking towards a nuclear weapon. That's great," Steve said sarcastically. "But if they're building something," Robin said, "why here? I mean, Hawkins. Seriously. Of all places. At the very best, we're a toilet stop on your way to Disneyland." Erica and Robin kept walking. "Think they know about it?" you whispered to Steve, still walking, but a fair distance behind Robin. "They could," Dustin whispered. "Maybe," Steve shrugged. "Possible," you, Dustin, and Steve whispered in sync. Suddenly, Dustin's transmitter started playing Russian. "We're close," Robin said.
Soon later, you came to a few cars. You all hid behind the metal container and waited for them to pass. Once they were gone, you turned the corner and there was a whole central of people. It was like the center of the whole underground Russian base. You all quickly hid. Steve lead you all to a different room. There was a guy in there. He put his hand to his gun. "Ждать! Ждать! Ждать!" you exclaimed. (Wait! Wait! Wait!) "Кто ты?" he asked aggressively. (Who are you?) "Мы шпионы под прикрытием," you said, "Мы только что вернулись с нашей миссии." (We are undercover spies. We have just returned from our mission.) "Мы больше не делаем миссии," he said, grasping his gun tighter. (We don't do missions anymore.) You panicked and knocked him out with a swing of your fist. "Why couldn't you do that on Billy?" Dustin asked. "I had glass in my head. I was suffering from severe brain damage," you said sarcastically. Dustin looked at you with a straight face. "Cause he's my brother, dipshit. I'm not gonna knock him out," you whisper-yelled. "He knocked you out," Dustin stated. "He's my brother," you stated, "He has that authority." Robin walked off while you and Dustin argued. She walked back a minute later. "Guys, there's something up there," she said.
You all followed her up some stairs to a room. The room had a door and a tall window beside it. Inside was something blue and glowing. There was a giant machine shooting a giant laser into the wall. That wall happened to be a gate to the upside down. "Fucking hell," you muttered.
