Most girls these days like stories with vampires and werewolves, but this is not Twilight and I do not sparkle. Many girls like the whole witches, wizards, and chosen one bull crap however, this is not Harry Potter. Girls think they are Cinderella and that there is a Prince Charming out there waiting. I am sorry to disappoint but I am no freaking Prince Charming. To further prove I am no Prince Charming I will tell you a few things, not many people know.

“I’m an A+ student on the football and basketball team. I’m number one on the fields and courts.” Hence, why not many people know what I am telling you now. Most people in Wolf’s Eye Academy; no, it is not crawling with werewolves it is near an Indian reservation, anyways. “Most people in Wolf’s Eye Academy can’t understand that I work hard for my grades; they think everything comes easy to me.”

I may be a good leader but there are days when I would rather have my nose stuck in a book; then be at school around all those so-called friends who would not understand. Those people who know nothing but think they know everything. People like that are so easy to fool but if they knew…oh, if only they knew. If they knew that the reason I stopped partying was because of…the “Accident” and not my scouting scholarship, I wouldn’t still be here. If only they knew the truth about Nadia.

“It was after Thanksgiving break when she started school at Wolf’s Eye Academy. I was in American History with Mr. Blackbird when she came in and sat down in the back row. She was beautiful. She was not like the other girls, her beauty was natural and she did not need make-up. I remember feeling her eyes on me throughout class and during games. She avoided me when I tried to ask her out. She just kept watching me from a distance. That went on for…I think two months before she stopped me in the hallway. She told me that something was wrong with me, some crap about my aura being clouded and hard to see. She said I was going to die soon. In addition, some crap about something unforgiveable was going to happen. At the time I thought she was freaking insane.” Crap too much! You dumbass, you have said too much.

“What do you mean by something unforgiveable would happen?” Officer John looks at me curiously. Crap he caught my mistake damn it! Think of something quick!

“It was weeks before she told me what she meant.” I mean I had to track that damn girl down more than once demanding her to tell me, what the hell she meant. The last thing I needed was some crazy girl going around saying crap about me. “She said the answers I wanted were in the future; I finely said, F*** it. I didn’t need the answers because the girl was insane; she was just another Indian kid from the reservation.” Nevertheless, no matter how much I thought she was insane I realize now, that I could not stay away from her. While I led the guys to think she was just another girl I was trying to get with, she had me thinking I loved her instead of Lauren.

“It was a battle of curiosity I fought for five months. That was until she told me her bombshell of a secret. I couldn’t handle that secret…I just couldn’t.” That secret would have ruined everything I had. Do you understand? I would have lost everything, I had no other choice…I had to do it.

“What was Nadia’s secret?” Officer John just looks at me, no doubt playing right into my hand.

“She was pregnant. She said that the night I went to my girlfriend Lauren Smith’s party I asked her to meet me at the cabin, on the edge of the reservation. No one uses that cabin anymore, you know that.” Nadia said I was drunk and out of control. She said that I was unusually sensitive. “She claimed we hooked up.” Which would not surprise me seeing as I was drunk. “First, why would I cheat on Lauren? Second, that is impossible because I was with the others the whole night. I couldn’t handle it though…I would’ve lost everything…I had to do it.” Crap, I’m an idiot! Ah, we had this all planed out, think, think!

            “What did you do?”

A tear! Are you serious? I’m actually going to cry over this? No, No way!

“What did you do to Nadia Blue-Owl?”

I will never tell anyone our secret. All I would ever say to anyone is… “Nothing; I didn’t do anything but leave her alone. I ignored her completely after that. An A+ student with a scholarship for football and basketball cannot be associated with a crazy pregnant Indian. For all I know she could have committed suicide or ran away because of depression. You know how it is in that reservation. Someone could have raped the poor girl and she was saying the baby was mine so she would not have to face the truth. You can ask my girlfriend Lauren Smith, she is the captain of the cheerleading squad at Wolf’s Eye Academy. I was with Lauren the entire night. Half the team wanted to go out for late night pizza after the party so Lauren and I joined them. I never went to see Nadia that night, I swear. I did not want to be anywhere she was. I mean would you? Especially after she said I was going to die soon…to me that sounded like a threat or something.”

“Where were you the night Nadia went missing?” These town cops are so clueless. Really, you really think after all that planning that I would not have a solid alibi?

“I was playing in the game against the Eagles. After that the guys, Lauren, and me went to the pizzeria down town till 11pm.” Ask where we were after that I dare ya. Go ahead! We were at the top of…

“Alright, we’re done here for now Mr. Buchannan. You are free to go. Good luck on the game against the Wild Cats Friday.” That’s it? Ha, really? What a joke!

“Let me know if you find anything more. I feel bad for the poor girl’s family. I hope you find her and get her some help.”

“I’ll give you a call if I hear anything new. Now you should get going or you’re going to be late for practice, don’t want our starting Quarterback falling behind now do we?”

“Good point. Have a nice day, Sir! Good luck on the case.”

The only ones, who will ever know about what really happened with Nadia, those two nights, would be Lauren, the guys, and me. Who is going to blame the cheerleading captain, half of an undefeated football team and their Quarterback; for the disappearance of an insanely suicidal Indian? No one will ever find out that we stabbed her in the stomach and hit her in the head with a rock. Or that we left her on top of Running Wolf Cliff in the underbrush three months after Lauren’s party. By the time anyone went looking for her, she was gone all thanks to the cougars and wolves.

See I told you I was no Prince Charming…
