chapter seven - tears

"Girls. Emergency", Sirius yelled, storming up to Dorcas and Marlene in the Gryffindor common room, pointing at his hair, that was a wild mess, standing up into every possible direction.

"What the hell did you do?", Dorcas asked, trying not to laugh but a giggle still left her mouth.

"This is not funny!"

Sirius bent down, now whispering.

"I'm going on a date with Remus in an hour and I look like this. Please help me."

The girls both laughed but then agreed on helping him and followed him into his room. Remus wasn't there, Sirius assumed he got ready somewhere else.

"Okay, I need to wear something sexy, something that will make him fall in love with me."

Marlene raised an eyebrow at him.

"As if he is not already."

"No, he isn't. But it also has to be casual, I mean we're just going for coffee, so you know?"

"I think Remus liked my sunglasses that you wore last time, the heart ones?"

"Yeah, but I can't wear the same thing I wore to the party."

"You're gonna need a you outfit tho, if you know what I mean", Dorcas said.

He did, in fact, not know what she meant.

"Y'know, ripped jeans and leather jackets vibe. What you like to wear."

Sirius laughed. "Alright. What about this button up with these pants?"

He held up a dark blue sparkly shirt and his favorite baggy ripped jeans.

"Pants yes, shirt no, not the right occasion", Marlene said.

He pulled out a light green one from his closet.

"Nah, not you."

It went on for ten more shirts like that, until both of the girls finally liked one. It was pink with dark red hearts on it and cropped.

"Also matches the glasses." Marlene handed them to him and he stuck them in his hair.

Sirius wasn't sure. "Don't you think the hearts are too much? I don't want him to think I'm that romantic."

"I can't talk for Remus, but every girl would definitely faint if they saw you like this", Dorcas answered back and Marlene nodded in agreement.

"Okay then, this one it is."

He added his infamous leather jacket and a pair of docs with it, for which it was almost still too warm outside, but he just couldn't without. Dorcas fixed his hair, as she knew how to tame curls and Marlene did his eyeliner.

"You should definitely learn to do your makeup yourself, I can't keep doing this every weekend", she laughed.

"But then I'll look ugly", he whined, meaning it.

"Not if you practice", Dorcas suggested, getting a moan from him in response, then she got up. "I think the hair's good now and I really have to pee, I've been holding it in for the last 20 minutes."

"Can you add a little red eyeshadow?", Sirius asked Marlene after Dorcas had disappeared and she started working on that, as soon as she was finished with the eyeliner.

In that exact moment, the door to the marauder's shared room opened and James came in.

"Oopsie, sorry for interrupting you guys. Just needed to grab this."

He pointed at a stack of homework on his bed.

"Don't worry, we're just getting ready", Sirius said.

"I'll leave you to it, have fun", James said, heading back out, after raising his eyebrows quickly at Sirius, who rolled his eyes in response.
