(this isn't very good but it's done and i'm going to write a ruikasa ff now. or maybe later...)

They ended up back in the restaurant part of the Maw. It was after hours though, so there weren't any Guests around. This gave things a more tranquil vibe than a couple of days earlier. Mono and Six were walking together and holding hands, but Alice and RK were arguing. She had just told him about how the Maw was really a ship, and how she'd seen the sun. Essentially, she had been trying to convince RK to leave with her. RK was now resisting.

"I wouldn't just leave my Nomes!"

"Take them with you then!"

"No, I can't just uproot them from the only place that they've ever called home!"

That sentence gave Alice a new outlook, because really, RK was talking about himself. She thought about her time in the Nest. At first, she had thought that maybe this was somewhere she could live happily ever after, but then she saw the monsters and was like 'yeah nah.' But the initial thought still lurked at the back of her brain. Alice put herself in RK's....wait- scratch that. He doesn't even wear shoes. None of them do. Only the bullies. That's probably why there hasn't been a 'BK,' (barefoot kid/burger king.)

"I'm sorry. I get where you're coming from, but I suppose that I have had a home before so I don't really understand but still.....yeah."

"Yeah. It's okay," RK replied.

The aisle of seats and tables gradually thinned out, until they stopped completely. In their place, a grand staircase stood silently. Silence. It was everywhere, and none of them dared to break the hush. The only sound was of little feet pattering along, ascending. At the top was a hatch. Once opened, an ocean breeze wafted through. They filed through, in awe of the warm, and shimmering sands. The ocean lapped at their feet and all around them, land was as far as the eye could see. RK and Alice were intrigued by the lighthouse, while Mono and Six played in the shallows. For once, Six was smiling from ear to ear. It was a beautiful sight to see, but Alice teared her eyes away and looking for RK, found him paused by the door of the lighthouse, waiting for her. He smiled, more softly than Six had, and held out a hand, hesitantly.

Alice took it.
