I take a deep breath and sigh, as my eyes flutter open. I look at the clock and see that it's 10:45 in the morning.
I slowly sit up and get ready for today. We have to leave at 1:30 to get to our party that's being thrown by our family.
The delicious smell of cinnamon flows through my nose, making my mouth water; as I waddle to the bathroom.
I do my hygiene and skincare, before heading to the kitchen. Josiah is already at school, so my baby boy is absent from our late brunch.
Jey is putting two plates on the table and I smile at him.
"That looks and smells so good." I say and Jey turns and smiles back.
"Not as good as you, Baby." Jey comes over and kisses me, before pulling out a chair for me to sit.
"I've got your mangos right here." Jey hands me a small bowl and I grab a fork.
I eat some mango, before putting some pieces into my oatmeal.
Now, I usually hate oatmeal. I'm more of a cream of wheat kinda woman. But, ever since I got pregnant; I've been eating things I don't usually want.
Like honey covered tomatoes! I hate tomatoes, but, I crave them so much and I love them.
Other things I crave are banana nut muffins, bacon cheese burgers, strawberry shortcake and seasoned cucumbers.
Thankfully, Jey doesn't let me eat a lot of junk, which my obstetrician is really thankful for. She tells me to stay away from certain foods, which include junk and a few fruits and vegetables that I shouldn't eat while pregnant.
As I'm eating, I take my prenatal vitamins and listen to Jey talk.
"Do you like everything I made? I hope it's not too much." Jey says.
"I'm pregnant, Jey. It's never too much."
"I guess, you're right. Are your feet real swollen today? You want a massage? What about your back? Are you hurting? Or.."
"Babe! I'm fine, I'm not in any pain or discomfort. At least no more than the usual." I smile and grab his hand.
"Don't stress. You'll make me stress and that's bad for the baby."
"I just..I wanna be useful to you. I want to comfort you." Jey pouts, a rare thing he does and my heart swells.
He only pouts when he's really worried about something or someone.
I bring his hand up to my lips and kiss it.
"You're doing amazing, Jey. Don't worry."
Jey smiles and nods.
"Only three more months and you'll be in less pain." Jey says.
"Yup. Then, we'll have to deal with sleep deprivation." I giggle and Jey shakes his head.
"I've done that before. It shouldn't be a problem, now." He says and I smile.
"This time, you won't do it alone."
Jey kisses my hand this time and we go back to eating our food.
After breakfast, Jey cleans up and I head to our walk in closet to pick out something to wear.
Since we'll be around most of Jey's family, especially elders, I'll need to dress a bit modestly. Not too much.
I have plenty of pretty dresses, so I just pick one and add things to it.
