TWA Flight 529, registered as November 86511 (N86511), was a Lockheed Constellation L-049 propliner, which was operating a scheduled domestic passenger service from Logan International Airport (IATA: BOS, ICAO: KBOS), Boston, Massachusetts to San Fransisco International Airport (IATA: SFO, ICAO: KSFO), San Fransisco, California, on the 1st of September 1961, at 02:05am CDT (Central Daylight time), the flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Midway International Airport (IATA: MDW, ICAO:KMDW), Chicago, Illinois, the crash killed all 73 passengers and 5 crew (78 in total), at the time it was the deadliest single plane disaster in U.S history.

The four engine propliner originated in Boston, and after making intermediate stops in New York and Pittsburgh, the flight arrived a Chicago Midway International Airport at 01:18am CDT, where a new crew took over and fuel and oil were added, at 02:00am the flight departed from Runway 22 bound for Harry Reid International Airport (IATA: LAS, ICAO: KLAS), Las Vegas, Nevada, which was the flights next stop, five minutes after departure while climbing westbound to 5,000 feet, the aircraft suddenly pitched violently upwards, resulting in an accelerated stall from which the crew was unable to recover, the aircraft crashed into terrain and left a debris field of 200 feet by 1,200 feet.
