Thia held her breath when she saw Sangheon.
His movements were like in a movie scene and it only made her realize how attractive this man was. And her heart fluttered like a little butterfly, freshly hatched from its cocoon on the way to the sweet nectar. In the same way, Thia was already about to set out to meet him, but Sangheon spotted her first.
His focus was on her, as if he had been searching for her in space.
When Sangheon reached her, he pressed Thia into a light, welcoming embrace. His scent enveloped her like an invisible aura. It carried the hint of an expensive perfume with the scents of fresh citrus and a woody base. "Kang Thia," her name rolled across his lips like a melody, and the British accent made him put extra emphasis on the first letter of her given name. Lee Sangheon had been through quite a relocation journey in his life. He was born in Korea, then moved to England, and had settled here in Bel Air a few years ago. As a son of wealthy parents, that partly explained his frequent moves. "Your dress ... - I'm speechless," Sangheon said as he gestured toward her white outfit.
"Do you like it?" asked Thia again for good measure, smiling sheepishly. "Glad you could make it to the party."
His presence alone was incredible, even without seeing the other girls directly, Thia knew everyone was staring at her. She felt like a young little girl towards him, fainting at that charming smile. Yet Thia didn't want to come across as superficial as the other girls, and least of all like Chloe, who stood next to her as if she had frozen into a statue. Her blue eyes lingered on him as if she wanted to absorb every little detail. Returning her gaze only briefly, Sangheon smiled before turning back to Thia. "Of course, I couldn't miss the party of a social media star like you after all. Besides..." he paused, looked up and spread his arms demonstratively, "this mansion is overwhelming."
Thia nodded her thanks, then pointed her hand in the direction of the kitchen.
She really, really, really didn't want to be superficial!
But Lee Sangheon was standing in front of her, complimenting her!
"Shall we go get something to drink? I could show you around the house then, too, if you'd like," Thia suggested, worrying about whether her voice might have come across as too uncertain.
Was she perhaps speaking too softly, or how many times had she looked down at her beige ballerinas?
She wanted to be confident, as she always was, but Sangheon made her feel insecure and nervous. Even though his smile looked really inviting, you couldn't help but feel flattered when he looked at you so intently. "Nothing better than that," he said with a wink, making a gesture that showed Thia should go ahead.
So with a heavy swallow, she grabbed Sangheon's hand and led him through the crowd.
So many people had already gathered in the mansion that it had become quite crowded. Thia really hadn't expected so many people, and hadn't planned on it at all. The path between the living room and the kitchen was so stockingly crowded that Thia was even pushed back and forth. Could just be a sign from Cupid, though, because when one of the guests gave Thia another shove, the girl stumbled back and bounced her back right into Sangheon's chest. "Sorry," she mumbled softly over her shoulder, but also somehow loud enough for the handsome boy behind her to hear.
