Monsters

We fear monsters
The ones under our beds
And the ones in the closests, hiding behind all the clothes
Thoes monsters were once humans
Like us
They had just as much potential as you and I
But unlike us,
They did not get the chance to thrive
From the moment they were born
They were discouraged,
Hit,
Ridiculed,
Yelled at.
They were not born into the monstrous exterior we see
But the human form we take
They were made a monster
That's why I don't fear them
I sit and talk,
Listening to the stories they have.
Once you get to know them,
They're not scary anymore.
