Chanel's POV
Fuck that's high. I couldn't help but rethink my decision. I still had the key to my house but I didn't want to run into Evelyn. I have no idea what she'd do to me if she found me. I needed clothes and some other things from my room and Valentina was busy decorating Travis's house for his upcoming party. As I stood in my backyard staring at my window that was on the second floor I was thinking about just walking in. The plan was to use the windows seals and the pipeline to climb up. I was in a cropped thin shirt and some Jean shorts so falling wasn't an option.
I took a deep breath and decided to get it over with. I held onto the pipe and pulled myself up until I reached my window. I looked down and felt really unlucky to have a fear of heights right now. I tried to push up my windows but it was a bit stuck. My foot slipped and I almost slipped to my death. I took a deep breath and pushed my window up again, which finally opened it and I was hit with a hot wave of heat. I pulled myself up and dropped down onto the floor. I stood up and ran to my door where I closed and locked it. I put my ear up to the door and heard a faint cry almost covered by the sound of water running. At least she's decided to shower. I'm sure her curls are not completely matted.
I dusted myself off and grabbed a backpack packing the rest of my clothes and money I had left under the mattress. I moved to the other side of the mattress and I found my old makeup bag. I didn't bother and just shoved it back in. I grabbed shoes and from my drawers anything that would fit. Anything that was essential I took. I took my old photo album from my nightstand and some makeup Valentina had left behind. I shut the two bags I filled and dropped them out the window. I was about to climb out when an idea came to mind. I went back to my door and still heard the shower going so I opened the door slowly. I tiptoed out of my room and all the way down to what used to be her room. I scanned through her side of the room and found nothing I was looking for so I went to my dads side. I went to his closet and as I looked around I l found the old bracelet I made him or yarn and beads. It had broken and he asked me to fix it but I forgot.
I grabbed the bracelet and went into the kitchen when I grabbed a cold water bottle. I opened it and made it over to the shower she was in. I quickly stepped on top of the toilet and poured the cold water on her head. I watched in joy as she screamed and tried turning the knobs to see what was wrong. Once the water ran out before I let her see me I ran outside and went around back to get my stuff. I wished I could have done more but I didn't want to risk it so I just ran all the way back to Landon's.
When I got there I dropped my bags by the door and stopped at the kitchen counter to catch my breath. "Looks like you just ran a marathon." Landon said as he came down the stairs. "Because I did." I sat down as he went into the freezer and pulled out a popsicle and a pizza. I watched as he opened the frozen pizza and put it under the oven as he ate the popsicle. He didn't turn the oven on and when he turned back around to me he flashed me a small smile. "I can see your bra." He pointed out how thin the shirt was, and that my yellow bra was being shown. Before I could answer, my eye caught a pen at the end of the counter. I grabbed it and played with it in my hand for a moment. "Landon catch this." He nodded and acknowledged the pen in my hand before I threw it. The pen hit his shoulder and he laughed as his hands tried to catch it after the fact.
