I was sitting at my desk. I hadn't seen Carol or Evanna in several days. I knew I had made a mistake telling GiGi about everything but I was hoping the two women could get along. I needed them to get along. Because the truth was, I needed GiGi's help. Evanna didn't know but my business was failing. All these high class gyms, including GiGi's, was causing my gym to fall flat in comparison. I thought that if I was nice to GiGi and we became friends that maybe she could help me with the gym, maybe even a collaboration of our two gyms. Evanna didn't know a thing. I didn't want to tell her that I didn't know where our next paycheck was coming from. I told her that business was booming and that I needed her help but the truth was, I just didn't have enough money to afford employees. Evanna tried to put Carol in private school but that wasn't cheap. I couldn't tell her what was happening. I knew she thought something was going on between GiGi and I but it was just business. I knew GiGi was flirty but I would never cheat on Evanna. I just couldn't tell her about how bad our finances were. Because it was my fault we were in this mess. I wanted to spend time with my family, open a gym and settle down. If I had just continued to be on the road, we wouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck.
"I got it!"
GiGi was helping me look over my finances tonight. She said she could help me find some places where I could cut back. I put on a smile as she walked in, trying to not stress over everything. She sat down next to me.
"So, where should we start?"
"Anywhere you want. My finances are a mess."
She laughed and I laughed with her. She touched my arm and I shrugged away a bit.
"Ok, let's see."
She leaned over to look at my finances, practically shoving her body against me. I tried to pull away but that made her move closer to me. She got in my lap and I was very uncomfortable with the whole thing. I was about to push her away when she started kissing me. I started pushing her away when I heard something smash on the gym floor. We both looked to where the noise had come from.
"Who's there?"
I heard footsteps running away. I grabbed my bat and walked out into the gym.
"What was that?"
"I don't know. Stay here."
I walked towards the entrance and saw the door open. I recognized her as soon as I saw her.
"Evanna?"
She ran out the door into the pouring rain. I ran after her.
"Evanna! Wait! It isn't what it looked like! Evanna!"
And she was already gone. I walked back to my office. GiGi was sitting in her chair. I grabbed my jacket and keys, ready to go after her.
"Where are you going?"
"Evanna saw that little display. I'm going after her."
I was about to walk out when GiGi grabbed my arm.
"Do you really have too? Just stay here with me. She'll be fine."
I pulled my hand away. "She is my wife. The love of my life."
"But she can't treat you as good as I can. Joe, think about it. Your finances are a mess. You don't have any money. Be with me and we can put our businesses together. You could make thousands, millions even. We'll even give a little of the money to her for her to live on. Carol can move in with us. Come on, Joe. You don't need that crazy in your life anymore."
"She is my wife, the mother of my child. She isn't crazy. But you're crazy to think I would ever be with you. I was just trying to be nice so you would help me. Our relationship was purely business. Now, leave and don't you dare come back. I have to go and find my wife."
She looked angry and slapped me in the face. She walked out and I ran to find Evanna.
