"He kissed you? Wow. I'm just going to say this now. I don't and will not ever have feelings for you."

"Thanks?"

He smiled. "You're welcome."

I was talking with Jon over Skype. Colby left the house soon after our conversation. I was hoping that we could mend our friendship but it would take some time. I asked Carol's babysitter to take Carol out for a while. I needed some time to think things over and talk to someone about everything. Jon was still in Europe but was coming back to the U.S tomorrow.

"I just don't know what to do anymore, Jon. Between Joe and Colby, it is a lot to take in."

"Hey, we all have dealt with worse things than this and we've gotten through them. I know we will get through this too. If you want, I'm going back home for a while. You and Carol can come and stay with me. And I promise, I won't hit on you."

"Thanks, Jon. That's comforting but I think we'll be ok."

"Alright. Well, I am going to come and visit you when I get back. You need a friend and I am the right guy for that."

"That sounds really nice. Thank you."

I heard a knock at the door and I knew it was most likely Carol coming back from the park.

"That's probably Carol. I will talk to you later."

He nodded and I ended the call. I went to the door and opened it, expecting Carol to be at the door. But that familiar fake blonde hair and caked on makeup stared back at me.

"GiGi."

"Hi, Evanna." She looked sad.

"Wow, you got my name right? Surprising. Must be you trying to be nice so I won't strangle you on my front porch."

"Can I come in?"

I was in shock. "Are you serious? You flirt with my husband, spend late nights with him, kiss him and now you're asking me to let you into my house? How stupid do you think I am?"

"Evanna, please. Listen to me. We need to talk. It's about Joe."

"Frankly, I don't care. Whatever it is that you have to say won't mean a thing to me."

I was about to close the door when she spoke again.

"I kissed Joe. But he never cheated on you."

I opened the door slightly. "What?"

She sighed. "I made advances towards him. It was wrong of me but I did it anyways. But he never felt the same. What you saw was me coming onto him but he pushed me away and basically told me he never wanted to see me again. He went out looking for you as soon as you ran off. He loves you, more than you could ever know. Not once did he falter. Trust me, I tried to get him to love me. I even tried to tell him that we could make tons of money combining our gyms together but he wasn't having it."

"Why did you think money would make him love you?"

"I don't think I should tell you that."

"What is it? Why would Joe care about money?"

"He already hates me so I might as well tell you. His gym is not doing well. At all. He's going to get shut down if not now then soon."

"What are you talking about? Business is booming."

"He didn't want you to worry. That's why we've been spending so much time together. I've been helping him keep his gym running. My gym is doing really well and he thought that if he was nice to me, I might consider doing a collaboration of our two gyms. I've been helping him with his finances. But I wanted more than that. He didn't. I'm sorry. I really am. Your husband didn't want you to know that he might get closed down."

"So, all those times you two were together it was to discuss business?"

She nodded. "Joe loves you. He never cheated on you. I wanted him too but he didn't."

Everything was starting to become much clearer. Me having to work for him after he suddenly fired his old secretary, not sending Carol to private school, him suddenly wanting to get food from cheaper places because it 'tasted better'.

"Thank you."

She nodded and left the house. I needed to talk to Joe.

I walked into the gym and saw Joe hitting a punching bag. He seemed angry and it looked like the bag was going to break any time now.

"What did that bag ever do to you?"

He spun around and looked at me. "Evanna?"

"Tell me the truth. Don't lie to me. Is the gym failing?"

"Evanna..."

"Tell me. Is the gym failing?"

He looked down at the ground and nodded.

"Why wouldn't you tell me that?"

"Because I didn't want you to see me as a failure. I quit the WWE so I could spend more time with you and start a family. I took a risk opening this gym and through it all, you trusted me. You stood by me. And now I don't even know if I can put food on the table. I don't know if I can even take care of our family."

"That isn't just your responsibility. We're married, Joe. That isn't supposed to be on just your shoulders. It is my responsibility too."

"I didn't want it to be."

"Why?"

He looked up at me, tears starting to brim his eyes. He wiped them away quickly. "I've already ruined your life enough. I made you give up your dreams to go on the road with me, Caroline died because she was trying to protect you from me, you now get terrible nightmares because of it. I promised you that I would take care of you and now I can't even do that. It would have been better if you never became a WWE fan. Then you could just have lived your life and been happy."

I went over to him and put my arms around him. "I love you. Yeah, you made mistakes. So have I. That doesn't mean we just give up. That doesn't mean we regret everything. I don't regret meeting you and falling in love with you. I have loved you since the day I first saw you and I have loved you every day since. Marriage isn't supposed to be easy but the two people in that marriage have to be able to trust each other with everything. That's what makes a marriage work. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you but you have to trust me and I have to trust you. And I'm sorry I didn't. I should have and I'm going to trust you from now on. Do you trust me?"

He smiled and nodded. He leaned down and kissed me. Everything from the past few days vanished as his lips touched mine. He pulled away and took my hand. We walked out of the building to go home.

"We'll get through this. We always do."

He nodded. "I know."

He helped me into the car and we drove away from the gym.
