Part 9 - Family

Things haven't been going so well lately. Another week has passed since Boruto's nightmare with Momoshiki, and he'd been having trouble sleeping – who can blame him?

He'd been sleeping with his parents the last couple days, which isn't ideal; considering he's a fourteen-year-old and is well over having his parents with him when sleeping, but... After refusing to go to bed, and even sneaking out several times to avoid it - it's not unhealthy and Naruto was adamant on his son sleeping with them.

To Boruto, it was totally uncool and lame, but over the last few days, he's realised that having them close, has really helped.

[Boruto P.O.V]

My eyes slowly open to the sunlight coming through the window.

It was a little more difficult to open my eyes this morning; lack of sleeping catching up to me, but I'm awake now and I just lay there, listening to my parents steady breathing.

It was rather soothing, and I close my eyes again to focus on them, until I felt dad move around behind me.

He shuffled a little, then gently ran his hand up from my waist to the middle of my chest.

"You awake, Bolt?"

I hum in response; trying not to disturb mum.

But then I felt a squeeze to my right hand; looking to see mum, who was softly smiling at me.

"Morning, sweetheart."

She says, bringing my hand up for a kiss, and I blush.

Dad then pulls me in, squeezing me tight so I couldn't escape, causing me to laugh. I tried to playfully break away but failed miserably.

"D-dad! Stop...!"

Mum giggles, watching as I struggled. She then sits up,

"Alright, you two. Why don't we go have some breakfast?"

Dad and I freeze, before exchanging a smirk.

I manage to get free, jumping up and off the bed, but... I didn't get very far.
