Part 11 - Meeting

In the infinite void of space, an Otsutsuki arrives on the orbiting moon of Earth, only to catch sight of someone's else's dirty work.

Takashiri Otsutsuki walked up to his life-long friend, Toneri Otsutsuki, who was frozen and petrified in time. He had a feeling he was going to be stuck for quite some time. There was nothing he could do, except keep his promise.

He looks out at the planet – his eyes narrowing in on one place, and one person...

"Boruto Uzumaki."

Toneri could not reach the boy, so someone must take his place and watch over him. However, Toneri did not tell Takashiri about the boy's power – he had kept that quiet. Takashiri only knows that the boy is special and is the saviour of Earth.

Takashiri never questioned his friend's judgement, but his Otsutsuki blood, made him curious. The clan members were naturally curious, always seeking new forms of power, and obtaining large amounts of energy.

But Takashiri was more focused on finding out, why this child was so special.

Why was Boruto so unique?

That promise.

My family.

They were going to be here for me, no matter what and they will do everything they can to make sure I'm safe.

That was all I needed to know.

Although I'm still scared, and unsure what will happen in the future; at least, my family and friends will be by my side. Now more than ever, I need them, and they need me to be strong.

That night, dad slept with me in my room. He didn't want to let me out of his sight and honestly, I didn't mind the company. I always slept better with him around. His presence was like a warm glow in the dark.

The next morning...

I woke, feeling heaps better, probably the best I've felt in months. I turned slightly to see dad sound asleep behind me on the bed, and I inwardly chuckled at his goofy face. Sitting up, I looked down at him again, smiling, then turned to the mirror.
