A warm sensation that makes you and Osamu feel awkward is something new for the two.

First of all, this is totally not a best friend thing.

Secondly, it makes it awkward that the two wouldn't dare to make eye contact for long.

Thirdly, that warm sensation somewhat feels good, like it feels satisfying but embarrassing at the same time.

Yeah, what the heck is going on?

You keep biting your lips, can't get that thought away from you. The same goes for Osamu, he keeps spinning his pen, feeling anxious. The two of you were currently in class, paying attention to the lesson. Well, not physically. Your eyes are constantly looking back and forth on your book and Osamu. You're getting really nervous for no reason.

On the other hand, Osamu desperately wanted to turn his head around to see you. He likes to know whether you're feeling anxious as well. But because this year he sits in the middle front while you're still on the back, he couldn't do it. People will find him suspicious, maybe including you. Passing notes would be impossible too since he sits in a different row from you. It's not his fault that he didn't become your deskmate either.

On the first day of their second year, all the partnering seats were taken and only left individual seats in different rows. You remember having dips on the back seat close to the window row, and Osamu was sulking for that. He doesn't love to gain attention much, so having a seat in the middle of the class and almost on the front row, scares him. Oh well, he better faces his fear. He already was blessed with good looks and a sort of good personality, hence he couldn't have everything perfect.

The bell rang, signalling it is club time. Every student packed their stuff, bidding goodbyes or walking together. You were doing the same thing except you're going to the gym with Osamu. Suna and Atsumu were still in the same class (2-2), while Ginjima had upgraded to upper class (2-4). You and Osamu stay the same, average class (2-3).

A shadow came forward to your desk, and you know who it was by the presence. "Let's go." Osamu bluntly said, his bag strap loosening up a bit on his shoulder.

You nodded, then the two of you proceeded to walk along the hallway towards the gym. It was a silent walk but the comforts and the presence fixed everything. Arriving at the gym, the two of you parted ways to our locker room or club room to change uniforms.

After that, the boys went stretching for the warm-ups before doing the passing drill. For this part, you don't need to do anything crazy. You only need to prepare for the drinks and their towels then you can watch them spike and receive the ball from each other.

You glimpsed at Atsumu talking with his brother. It's not like you're eavesdropping on their conversation, they are murmuring stuff from far away so you couldn't hear it clearly. Your eyes then dart towards Akagi and Aran, doing their passing drill.

Ojiro Aran, jersey number 4, he's the ace of the team. He indeed has a powerful spike. You know for sure that he wouldn't take it easy on his opponents, even though the opponent's team was already weak.

Akagi Michinari, jersey number 15, he's the libero of the team. From what you observe on him, he's really good at receiving. You do see a habit of him holding his breath when he receives a heavy serve or spike from the opponent.

Is this a habit for all the liberos?

Out of the blue, your eyes tear away from Aran and Akagi when you hear footsteps coming your way. It's the grey-haired fox, holding out the volleyball in his hand towards you. You crack out a smile and accept the volleyball.
