"Baby we lost all the love that we had."

March, 2004:

"What do you mean you've never seen Without Witness?" Reid exclaimed from his desk across from me, his head snapping up as I casually mention I'd never seen the film.

"Reid, I'm not sure any normal, not fluent in Russian, person has seen that," JJ chuckled, walking by and ruffling his hair, his lips contorting into a pout.

"Yeah, pretty boy," Derek commented from behind his stack of paper work. "But if y/n actually wants to see it, maybe you should show it to her?" Derek suggested with a smirk.

"Depends," I smiled at Spencer's wide eyed and excited expression. "What's it about?" I leaned forward knowing I was about to cause one of Spencer's rants that I found so fascinating. I could hear Derek groan from across the room, his too obvious plan backfiring slightly.

"It's a Russian romance and drama made in 1983. Based upon S. Prokofyeva's play "A Conversation Without Witnesses." It follows Irina Kupchenko and Mikhail Ulyanov in a sad story about two people who once loved each other," Spencer summarized flawlessly, not missing a beat.

"Okay, I'm down," I replied, standing and grabbing the mug Penelope had given me as a welcome gift, off of my desk. "Your house at 6?" I asked, turning to the genius.

"Sounds good," He swallowed, his Adams apple bobbing slightly. I just smiled and turned to head to the break room. As I was walking down the hall, I got an eerie feeling someone was following me. I turned the corner sharply then slipped into the room. I then turned on my heels to be met face to face with Agent Derek Morgan.

"Shit," I exclaimed, slapping his chest. "What the hell, Morgan?"

"Can't tell if you are pissed at me for what I did back there or for scaring you," he chuckled, strutting over to the coffee pot, beating me to it.

"Scaring me! I have no idea what you're talking about with the other thing," I replied, crossing my arms as I waited for him to finish pouring the bitter brown liquid into his own mug. I was grumpy, in need of coffee and Derek's pestering was not any help.

"Oh c'mon! You and pretty boy totally have it going for each other," Derek replied, taking a sip of his coffee as he passed me the pot.

"I have no idea what you're taking about," I scoffed, turning around so my back was to him and he wouldn't be able to see right through my lie and into my affections for Reid.

"Right..." Derek trailed off.

"What makes you think we like each other? Huh?" I questioned with a tilt of my head.

"Many things," he replied. "Have fun on your date," He said, exiting the room with a massive smirk that I wanted to smack right off his face.

"Not a date!" I called back, getting some weird looks from other agents passing by, none thankfully being Spencer. I then turned to look at my cup which was barely one-third of the way full...and the coffee pot was completely empty. I huffed, then prepped to get started on another pot.

"Do you wanna order in?" Spencer asked from the kitchen as he checked his empty fridge. I don't know why he bothered checking or even asking. He knew I knew that he didn't have any food in his apartment.

"Sure! Chinese?" I asked from where I was lying on his couch.

"Fine, but I'm using a fork!" He said reaching for the phone and dialing the Chinese places number. Meanwhile I searched for Without Witness.

After some time and struggle, I finally found the movie and Spencer returned to the large brown couch. I hit play and as the movie went on, Spencer's translations ringing in my ear. It suddenly felt oddly intimate, him whispering what they'd been saying on screen and relaying it back to me. I had tried desperately to keep my eyes glued to the screen but as he said such romantic words, my eyes couldn't help dart his way then down towards his lips. I highly doubt the oblivious boy noticed it, but from then on my eyes were darting from him, his lips and then back to the screen. It took all the control I had not to break, to give in, to let all my pent-up desire take over me. As it began to feel more and more helpless, the door bell rang.

"I got it!" I said, popping up quickly. I went and opened up the door and were met with the delivery guy. I thanked him and payed him then brought the food to the living area.

"I'm starving." I sighed.

"Same."

A couple hours later, we had both had finished our food and the movie was over and I just sat there in awe.

"That's how it ended! I don't get it." I said, frustrated.

"What about it don't you get?" Spencer said as if he had complete understanding. But then again, he is a genius.

"Everything!" I joked, looking at him from my end of the couch. I really hoped he couldn't tell I missed over half the film due to my distracting urges. "I mean even if you're translating, it's still difficult with the entire film being in Russian."

"Okay, well, basically the movie is about good vs evil, acceptance of violence in society and more importantly the nature of man." He stated in his usual 'Reid explaining something in depth' voice that I loved so much. "In it's whole it is an unflinchingly intimate and wickedly plotted two-actor tour de force pitting a divorced couple against each other and themselves. He wants to keep her from her true love so he black mails her," Spencer explained.

"Woah." Was all I could say

"Yeah. Woah." He laughed at my response. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure." I sighed knowing what he was about to say.

"Want to watch an episode of doctor who? Please?"

"Sure," I laughed. "But next time, I pick what we watch," I said, sitting up from where I'd been lying down on the other end of the olive green sofa. I stuck my hand out and raised my brows in hopes he would accept my proposition. "Deal?"

"Will there be a next time?" Spencer asked with furrowed brows.

"Of course," I shrugged.

"Then deal," he smiled, sticking his hand out to shake mine. I obliged, and took his palm, grasping it tightly.

"Sooo you'd be fine if I want us to watch Barbie Swan Lake?" I asked with a wide smile.

"If it's anything like the actual Swan Lake," He shrugged, starting to get lost in the episode he'd just put on and I laughed. I never thought I'd meet someone I clicked with so easily. He just genuinely makes me want to be a better person. That's just one of the many things I'm beginning to realize I love about Spencer Reid.
