July, 2019:

I woke up the next morning to find the space beside me in the bed cold, and empty. I quickly slid on the shirt Spencer had been wearing the night before, which was long enough to conceal my naked body. I walked into the main living area of his apartment to find him seated on the couch, reading while a bag of takeout breakfast sat on his counter.

"Hey," I smiled walking up from behind him. He immediately laid the book down and met me near with counter, greeting me with a short, but sweet, kiss.

"Sorry, I considered making breakfast but then quickly realized I don't have any ingredients, so I just ordered from this place down the street, that I think you'll love," He explained, pulling out each styrofoam box from the bag.

"Thanks, this all looks delicious," I sighed. As Spencer got up to grab the utensils from a drawer I just smiled.

"What?" He said, his brows creased as he passed me a fork.

"Nothing," I shrugged, which made him raise his eyebrows knowing something was going on with me. "I'm just happy, that's all!"

"Me too," He smiled back at me. "It's been a long time coming."

"No kidding," I laughed. "Are you busy today?"

"No, why?" He replied, beginning to indulge in the variety of breakfast foods.

"I was thinking we could maybe spend the day together? If that's okay with you?"

"Sure, that sounds great."

"Good but before we do anything we have to head back to my place so I can change."

"Why? I think you look great in nothing but my shirt?"

"Oh Doctor Reid," I laughed. "But seriously, I highly doubt this whole "fucked out" look is presentable for me to be in public in."

"Whatever you say," he laughed. We quickly finished up our breakfast and then headed to my car. The drive there was spent catching up, and it was nice to talk to him again. After a comfortable drive we finally got to my new apartment.

As we entered the threshold of my barren living room, I called to him, "Just wait here, I'll be back in a minute."

"Y/n?"

"Yeah?" I said, pausing in my steps to turn and look at Spencer who was opening one of the boxes near my couch.

"Have you not unpacked yet?" he laughed, holding up a stuffed purple monkey he had gotten from the cardboard box.

"No I have not...give me that!" I laughed as he pulled it just out of my reach as I stepped towards him, our bodies now flush. "I just haven't had enough time."

He looked down at me with a smirk and said, "Why do you even have a purple monkey anyways?"

"It's a childhood toy," I huffed. "Now give him back!" I said, jumping up to in an attempt to snatch the stuffed animal from his grasp.
