"Calm down, it's blood not nuclear waste." She scolds, like a mother her child. As if that's going to make me panic any less. It doesn't. It makes it proportionally worse.

"Yes, sweetheart. It's blood and you're bleeding out on the floor so I'm allowed to panic." I counter. She huffs as we wait for some medical attention from that stupid robot whose name I've forgotten. She leans her head back on the white wall, closing her eyes. "Mer? Stay awake for me sweetheart."

"I am very much awake, sweetheart." She mocks my concern. I'm slightly taken aback but continue to add pressure to her wound. The blood slips through my fingers like ribbons, swirling and twisting. Robo-boy decides to finally finish wherever irrelevant fucking task he had before to attend to my girlfriend whose blood stains the floor and my hands.

"Took you long enough Robo boy." I tease, removing my hand so he can attend to her.

"Please, call me David. I will attend to Miss Vickers at med bay. If you'll excuse us." He drones in the same mechanical voice as always.

"David my ass." I mutter as I pull off the massive suit I didn't get the chance to remove. I take the long walk back to my room to think about her sudden change in demeanour. I mean I didn't do anything wrong. I brush it off as the hot water engulfs my body, soothing my muscles and washing my lovers blood down the drain.

Pulling on a black tee and grey joggers and dragging on my trainers I jog to the med room, searching for the blonde hair and blue eyes I'm so familiar with. When I find her she's all patched up, laying asleep. I take a seat next to her, getting comfortable. I watch her chest rise and fall rhythmically. Soon enough my eyelids grow heavy, and they flutter closed.

I wake up to the feeling of someone on my lap, blocking the light. I open my eyes a small amount, the lights to bright. Once they're fully open I see the blonde who was just bleeding out staring down at me. I pull her in by her hips - gently as to not hurt her.

She peppers a few slow kisses on my face and I laugh before capturing her lips with mine. She moves slow and dreamlike. She pulls away and I lift the grey t-shirt she wears to look at her wound. It's neatly stitched. The Robo boy did a good job.

I pull her in again and she wraps her arms around my neck. I stand to lift her onto the bed, rolling onto my back as she rests her head in my neck. "I love you Mer." I whisper, praying she hears it. Begging. I get no reply and before I know it I'm being dragged further away from her.

I scream and try to grab onto anything, walls seemingly disappeared. In the black void all I see is the hospital bed with her figure laid alone as I'm dragged away. The light illuminating her becoming a twinkle in the darkness.

I jolt awake, the beeping of a machine ringing in my ears. Another nightmare I confirm as my lover lays in front of me, blonde hair around her like a golden crown. I pull out the voice recorder. "Day 139 of being stuck on a different planet."

I end the recording and place it back in the drawer, shuffling my chair closer to my lover. "Day 136 of Merediths sleep." I whisper as I fall back asleep into the endless cycle of hellish dreams and beautiful nightmares.
