"Lesso, I don't think that's a great idea.." Clarissa trails off as the red-head transforms into a raven - feathers shining a slight red when caught in the light. The feathered body turns to face the woman in the canary yellow dress, turning back to her usual form, ready to stop the endless dispute.
"Clarissa, I'm a never. Bad ideas are the epitome of my existence." She smirks at the morality of her counterpart. This woman is never going to have any fun at this rate.
"It's a blatant invasion of privacy."
"Oh yes, Dovey, because you've never attempted to invade a person's privacy? If I recall correctly, you barged into my office just now without knocking."
"Yes, but you're going to spy on her." The ebony skinned woman complains.
"She's my lover."
"Who, may I remind you, is angry with a certain red head right now." She quirks an eyebrow almost victoriously, foolishly forgetting the taller woman is extremely stubborn.
"Keep your morals away from me, Clarissa." Lesso finalises before returning to her bird form. With a flutter of her wings, she flies across to the balcony parallel from hers on the other school. She spots me staring out at the sunset.
Her bird form lands on the bannister elegantly, transforming when she hits the cold metal. Her curly hair shadowed my face. I look at her in dismay. Quiet time is ruined, it seems. I open the large window and hop down onto the wooden floor.
My lover (the word of which has become distasteful to me) follows wordlessly. And soundlessly, it seems. I turned to check for her presence - not that it would bother me if she wasn't. She's not there.
I sigh and turn back to my bed, nearly crashing into a figure much taller than me. I bow my head away from her prying eyes, gaze landing on her hands - allowing me to note the absence of her cane. I find myself craving her touch, but at the same time, I want to not forgive her for her stupid stunt.
The hand I'm not looking at is under my chin, almost hesitantly. Never in the time I've known her has she been hesitant. I resist the urge to lean into her, and she makes no attempt to get any closer. I meet her eyes, which are filled with worry. My own try to find something else to look at.
"Baby, please look at me." She whispers, and I nearly jump at the sudden sound in our strained silence.
"And if I don't?" I murmur back, not daring to raise the volume of the conversation.
"Then I'll leave, but it will kill me to do so." She says, removing her hand. I want to beg her to put it back, but I don't, instead allowing my eyes to fall and her hand to resume its place at her side.
She goes to leave, but I grab her hand."Why did you do it?" I ask.
"I thought it would be funny." She hums shamefully. Her hand is limp in my grip, not daring to move, fearing I may change my mind. But I won't. I never will no matter how much she hurts me because I love her.
"You thought cutting a chunk of my hair off in the middle of my lesson as an april fools prank would be funny? Leonora -" I let go of her hand in disbelief. As soon as I let go, however, she breaks down.
"I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I regretted it as soon as it happened, just please don't leave me." I'm speechless at her outburst - I let myself give into the temptation that is her. Her stupid red locks, pretty face, and stupidly kissable lips.
"I'm not going to leave you, sweetheart. Calm down. I'm just a little angry." I say, embracing her in a hug. She's shaking slightly. I didn't know me leaving her was that scary.
"Thank god." She relaxes quickly in my grip, arms wrapping around my waist. I move my arms around her neck, and she gently lifts the lock of hair that she cut previously. It starts to grow back, and she drops it back with the rest of my hair. I stare in awe. Her hand grips my chin.
"It won't happen again. Now please can I kiss you?" She whines. I can't help the smile that makes its way across my face. Of course, she wants to kiss me. I've been ignoring her all day. I drop my gaze down to her lips and back to her wide eyes.
Her arms tighten around me as I stay silent, biting my lip. I pretended to think about it, dropping my gaze to her lips a few times. She begins to grow impatient, the topic of conversation is easily forgotten. "Baby, stop teasing." She says breathlessly before adding a quiet, "please."
"You're awfully polite today." I hum, prolonging the moment as long as possible.
It becomes apparent she can't wait any longer as she captures my mouth with hers. Her lips move softly against mine but with passion. I smile at her gentleness. Her cold hands run along my back, tracing shapes that aren't there. She sits down on my desk chair pulling me onto her lap. The kiss goes on until we're both out of breath and have to pull away.
I rest my head on her chest, and she secures her hands around me - one playing with my hair. "No more pranks on you, I promise." She whispers, red locks framing her porcelain skin.
"Good." I say, capturing her lips again. In these moments, I'm not so angry. Even when she's cut my hair.
