Raine's Promise

Disclaimer: The Owl House doesn't belong to me, also, spoilers for season 2 and three, sooooo, if you wanna spoil this for yourself... Idk, it's your choice.

   Right after Raine and their team finished planning, Raine found Eda and Luz talking on the balcony.
  
"Eda! I think we should get moving."
 
"Alright Rainestorm." Eda replied. As Rain proceeded to move along, they felt a hand grasp their arm. Firm and serious. They looked behind them and saw Luz looking at the ground, but when they looked, she looked up.
  
"You know what's going to happen if this fails, right?" She asked They smiled.
   
"Of course. Hopefully this plan will go as quick as possible and the draining spell will be thwarted." They replied. After That, they walked into the room and took one deep breath.
 
"Alright everyone, the next 24 hours are going to be rough." They said. And then they started planning.

***Time skip because I do what I waaaant***

   "Are you really willing to get a sigil? Even if your curse heals, you'll never be able to practice wild magic again." Raine said to Eda.

   "...Ah, my curse isn't going anywhere. I can tell it's always going to be a pain in my feathers, but if I can do this to help, why would I refuse?" Eda said, turning to Raine.

   "It's time." Steve said, putting on the branding glove.

   "Well. Isnt it cool we'll have one last adventure together?" Eda said, turning toward Steve. But Raine knew that this was one of her greatest fears. And they watched as Steve branded her with a coven sigil.

   ***Anoder time skiiiiiip***

   Eda took a deep breath in, watching the invisibility glyph turn to dust.
  
   "The cloaking stone won't cover you're voice so, make sure not to speak. Also-"

   "The curse will do it's thing, I got this Rainestorm, don't worry."

   "Don't." Raine started up, holding Eda's hand against their palm and softly rubbing the bard coven sigil. "Don't tell me not to worry."

   "Edalyn! Please be careful! If you need help, just, uh, flap your arms!" Lilith said, coming down the stairs

   "Or scream real loud!" Suggested Hooty, from on her back.

   "Or-" Lilith started up again
  
   "Don't worry, Lily, with this spell declared, I promise I'll be back." Eda said.
  
   "That's not a spell, it doesn't even rhyme." Lilith said with a sniffle.

   Eda as Raine poked her head from the gap where the stairs were and she looked back, locking eyes with Raine who had just looked up from their journal. She game them a smile, showing her golden fang.

   Raine looked down at their little journal and wrote:
      I hope I am able to protect Eda if anything goes wrong... I promise to protect Eda, no matter the cost, I just hope It's enough to save her if something happens to us...

   As they did this, they missed the part where The Emperor told Era that he was switching up the places, but when they looked up, Terra and Adrian were next to Eda instead of Darius and Eberwolf. What... They thought, confused.

   They were just about to call out "Eda! It's a trap! Stop!" When they heard a scream from down the corridor. They saw one of Eda's invisibility glyphs on the ground and picked it up, tapped the glyph, and held their breath.

They heard the Abomiton before they saw it.

And there it was. It was terrible and ugly, and quite scratched up but it was still functioning, Raine couldn't gold their breath much longer and didn't know what to do, and with their body in a panic...

They let go of their breath, making them visible once more and then they were captured In the Abomatons slimy hands.

   Raine was brought up the stairs and onto the platform. They saw as the Abomaton grabbed Eda and pulled her away as Raine's put them in her place.

   "Raine! No!"

   "Eda!"

   Eda was getting killed much faster than the others with her curse and Raine had to watch every moment of her pain. It hurt them like it hurt her or maybe that was their own sigil hurting them. It was worse than what it would feel like if a basalisk started draining your magic.

They had to watch as Eda awoke. They were the only Coven Head left awake and they started to drag themself toward Eda. One arm at a time. They finally made it to her and they grabbed her wrist, finally remembering one of the things Eda had demonstrated to them.

   "I promised someone who loves more than you can imagine... I'd protect you." And finally, all in one movement, they ripped off Eda's arm, making her once again, safe. And then, they lost consciousness and fell to the ground, with Eda's tears drip-dropping their way onto Raine's face.

   Raine woke up in Eda's arms. Where they've always loved it most. They woke up and she smiled happy to see them. They smiled back, if not out of happiness out of pure love. They softly touched the spot where Eda's arm was. They looked up at The Collector and King spinning in the sky. Raine watched and Eda locked eyes with them.

   They nodded and as they did that, she turned to harpy mode and dang

   She was pretty

   But As Eda took off, they realized they had made a mistake, they watched as Eda was captured by The Collector and The Collector saw Raine, then the Collector set off some weird stars with ribbon looking stuff behind them. Raine realized that when someone got touched by one of them, (something that was very quickly shown to them) something terrible happened. They got turned. The demon turned wooden, and was teleported away in a flurry of sparkles and stars.

   Raine saw this happen to the other coven heads and civilians, and ducked behind the stairway walls. And from done of the star's trails emerged robot stars. Raine was scared and then, they started invading, everywhere the stars trails went, it turned into some twisted dream, like some childish wish with rainbows and shooting stars. As Raine was peeking out to see, one of the robot stars caught sight of them. It was too late to duck back.

They ran down the corridor but the star floated and the last thing they saw before the star turned them was gleaming red eyes. They thought  this and this only:

   I hope Eda will be okay...

Whoop! That was long, and honestly, I know this didn't make much of a difference in the story but it was just a thought I had while doing some stuff and so, I wrote it down. Eh, I liked telling this story from Raine's pov and it was pretty cool to get to tell the story of how they got captured
