Owl House stories || Requests open!!

Nightmares

   Eda was running. Running and running nonstop from those who called her a freak, a monster, a bully. She wasn't a bully! Right..? She saw the Owl House in the distance, she could make it if she went fast enough. But Luz, Gus, and Willow all brought it to life.
   

   "What are you doing, kid?" Eda asked, all of her hope slipping away.
   

"Eda, you're not just cursed, you're a curse on this world. No one even likes you. Stop trying to be normal. You'll just fail." Eda starts crying as Luz spat out hurtful words.
  

 "What?" Eda only gets a second to say that until the Owl House dropped on top of her.
   

   She woke up with a jolt, eyes popping open. Owlbert was on the edge of her nest looking at her worriedly. Eda wonders where she is for a moment and then realizes she's in the Owl House. In her room. She looks around at the walls plus some other junk around her room, and realizes she was crying. Eda thinks for a moment and then remembers why, which only makes her cry more.
   

   Eda lays back down in her nest, curling up under one of the edges and crying. She hears someone talk.
 

  "Eda?" They say. It was Raine. Eda doesn't exactly feel comfortable showing others her feelings yet. Except maybe Luz, Owlbert, and King. Raine had only just moved in a few weeks , maybe two, after the Day Of Unity. Eda curls up deeper, intent to hide from her past lover. However, when they didn't hear an answer, they asked again, a little more worried this time.

   "Eda? Can I come in?" They asked. Eda knew she had kept them waiting to long and attempted to answer, but all that escaped her mouth was:
 

  "I- No thank you R-Raine" she stuttered, having clearly still been crying, Raine walked in anyways because they were too woried about her to not do so. They walked in and almost couldnt see her, the only thing that gave her away was Owlbert, sitting right on the edge of her nest.
 

  Raine made their way to Eda's nest and sat in it, next to Eda.
 

  "What's wrong, Calamity?" They asked her. They knew she had a soft spot for nicknames and so they stayed and waited for her to respond.

   "N-nothing Raine. Please I-I don't need h-help. Please just g-go." She said, tears leaking into her words.
 

  "No, Eda. I'm not leaving you. I am going to stay here until you tell me what's wrong." They said. Eda looked over at them slightly and they saw that her eyes were a bit red and puffy, along with tears just now rolling off her cheeks. They put a hand on her shoulder and she flinched away. They respected that she didn't want to be touched, but she really needed some love right now, and so did they. Eda sat up a little and turned around to look at Raine.

   "Why don't you w-want to l-leave?" She asked, genuinely puzzled. She was a monster. She was cursed. WHY would they of all people want to comfort her? Raine gave her a sweet look that said so many things they couldn't say. Or wouldn't.
 

  "Because... We've known each other all this time, so why would I give up on you now?" They said. To Eda, it kind of made sense but eventually she just decided she needed a hug. She moved over to them and wrapped her arms around them, she cuddled her head into their chest and cried more than ever.

   "It's alright, just let it all out." They said, bringing Eda closer and rubbing her on the back, comforting her. She looked up at them and their floofy mint hair. Their glasses. Their wonderful, beautiful face. She loved them so so much. But she was tired, sad, and just very much not in her usual brain which is why she said the most embarrassing yet most truthful thing in her life.

   "I love you, Rainestorm." She said into their chest, so it was kind of muffled but still very audible. She realized what she said and started blushing. Hard. Raine heard this and turned into a tomato. Literally, their entire face was just red. Red red red. All the red.

   "Uhhh..." They responded, very confused on how to continue the conversation. Eda, after having an entire nightmare, decided that this was rejection.

   "Well, um I uhhhhhhh, I, uh, I really like you too Eda it's just-" they were interrupted by Eds's negativity.

   "You just don't love me back." She assumed, very pessamistically.

   "No! Of course I love you! I just, I never planned to say it this... soon, I guess." They said awkwardly. This absoloutley made Eda's day though. (Day? Night? Idk I'm stoobid) Raine looked at her as she turned her head to look up at them with a smug look on her face, her chin resting on their chest.

   "Good." She said. Burrowing into their chest again. They were shorter but that's okay. Raine leaned down to give her a kiss on the head for the first time in 20-30 years. Eda smirked and snuggled into their chest even more. They held her, as she was done crying, and played down as well. Falling asleep peacefully in the nest next to eachother.
