Lorenzo
"Is it ready yet?" I asked my lawyer Dominic. He's preparing the paper work right now, we're in my home office talking through the terms.
"It's almost done, you said you want to add that divorce clause?" He's talking about a clause I'm making him put in the contract. Aella will never be able to get a divorce from me, as long as she breathes air into her lungs it won't be possible. There will be no prenup, what's mine will be hers and what's hers will be mine. The kids will legally be mine as well, in the contract it states that Aella is willing to share parental rights with me, making me their legal guardian. I made Dominic jump through hoops to make sure that everything he's writing up is as close to legal as possible."Yes, I want the divorce clause in. How soon can you have it drawn up?"
"I can send these over to my assistant to make copies then I can have her fax them over."
"If doable I want everything done within the hour. This has to be done today." I reminded him, I will not have a single thing go wrong. As soon as I bring these to Aella to sign her life will be eternally tied to mine.
"It should take about 30 minutes, once you have her sign this immediately send them to me and I'll have it processed right away into the records."
"Good, thanks for your help today."
He shrugged his shoulders, "Hey, that's what friends are for, helping them secure a wife." He chuckled lightly.
I'm standing in front of the apartment right now. The documents are in a folder held underneath my arm. Knocking on the door I hear children's laughter right behind it.
A bedraggled looking Aella opens the door, some mysterious stains mar her shirt and her curls are all over the place. Even looking like this she's still the most beautiful woman in the world."Hey Enzo, you here to see Luciano?" She asked.
"No, I'm actually here to see you." Her brows furrow in confusion.
"Of course come in." She opens the door wider, I see Clementine and Isabella watching some type of kid cartoon with a talking raccoon and talking bird. Shaking my head I can't believe the type of shit kids watch these days. I look over on the couch and see Luciano on his phone, too engrossed in that tik- tak or tok-tik whatever it's called. He looks up and quickly breaks into a full blown smile.
"Papà! I missed you." He runs up to me full speed and hugs me tightly.
"Mio figlio, it's been too long." I embrace him, Aella didn't want me to take him on the weekends anymore since his death. She wanted them to mourn as a family, all together.
"Papà!!" The girls screamed, they first started calling me Papà ever since they heard Luciano call me that. Caine didn't mind, Aella tried to have them call me uncle Enzo but it never stuck.
"Le mie piccole principesse, how are you guys doing?" Clementine is the spitting image of her father while Isabella has her mother's eyes and her curly hair but blonde instead.
"We're doing good, where's our treats?" Isabella asked, just like her Mama so demanding. I usually bring some sweets every time I visit but not today.
"Sorry principessa, not today. I promise next time I'll bring the biggest cake." She screams, jumping up and down while clapping her hands.
"Ok, how about you guys go back and watch tv, I need to have a word with Mama."
They all go back to doing what they were doing while I seat myself at the kitchen table, Aella follows and does the same.
"So what did you want to talk about?" She twiddles with her fingers a nervous habit she always had.
I pull out the folder and slide it across to her. She stares at it bewildered until she opens it up reading what's on top. Her expression changes to one of anger.
"What is this?" She hissed.
"It's a marriage contract."
