Hiccup and Astrid look a bit different. Especially Hiccup who decided to have a really big growth spurt this past year. They look like the pictures below.

Normal pov
It has been a year since Hiccup and Astrid ran away from Berk. When they first left, It took about a week to find a decent island to stay on that had all of the essentials for living. This island was the most beautiful place in the archipelago. It was only reachable by dragons (thankfully) so they wouldn't be bothered. The duo has explored many islands and made friends with a trader named Johann who has been trading them gronkle iron (one of Hiccup's inventions) for anything they need. Hiccup built a sturdy mansion for the two of them to stay in. Together they managed to make a training arena, many huts for different purposes, a forge for Hiccup, etc. (Just envision dragons edge from the show).

Hiccup and Astrid have become each other's best friends and would do anything for the other. About 5 months after running away Hiccup and Astrid ran into a giant ice fortress. They soon figured out that Hiccups, thought to be dead mother, had been living there taking care of the dragons. (you already know the whole Valka situation). HIccup's mother, Valka, had decided to stay with them on their island they named "Dragon's Edge".
Now here we are a year later with Hiccup sitting over a cliff, wondering what is going on in Berk right now. Astrid walks to him and rests her hand on his shoulder.
"What are you thinking about?" she asks
"Nothing," Hiccup replied solemnly.
"Hiccup, don't start that with me. I know you and I know that something is up,"
Hiccup chuckled," Nothing ever gets past you milady. I was just wondering how everything is going on Berk. I mean, I hated my father but he was still my father."
Astrid looked at the beautiful scenery and sighed," Yes I think about it a lot too. I've come to terms with my decision to leave and you should too if you ever want to be at peace with yourself.

The flapping of wings was heard and soon enough, Valka arrived at the scene.
"Hello son. I have another idea of how to bring down the Red Death." Valka said eagerly.
"Oh that's good, could I see?" Hiccup responded
Valka handed her son the plan. He looked at the paper approvingly and said,
"Well this just might work, how about we actually put this one into action?"
They have been trying to figure out ways to defeat that monster of a dragon ever since Hiccup and Astrid saw it last year.

~ A week later ~
Hiccup and Astrid were flying to the nest while Valka was at Dragon's Edge gathering every dragon they had on the island. When Hiccup and Astrid landed, they started to look for an entrance.
"Over there!" Astrid pointed
Once at a fairly large opening in the cave, Hiccup threw a handful of eels in there while Astrid held a giant bucket of them. Dragons started pouring out, but no Red Death. Hiccup and Astrid started going around the whole mountain until they thought that every dragon had escaped.

Finally, Valka had arrived with a whole army of dragons. Most of them were from the dragon sanctuary and the others were the ones that hiccup had saved during his journeys.
"Have you gotten all of the dragons out Hiccup?"
Hiccup nodded and the Valka yelled,
"Fire!"
The army of dragons started raining fireballs and any other sort of power right into the mountain. All of the sudden, a great dragon rose out of the mountain, breaking the rest of the mountain into pieces. They kept shooting at the dragon with everything they had... but it wasn't enough. The Red Death then shot the hottest fire imaginable in every direction wounding most of the dragons. The trio was shocked, but then Hiccup realized that there is only one way to stop a dragon like this.

When Hiccup was riding around with toothless back at Berk, a terrible terror tried to snatch Toothless's fish. Toothless then shot a small plasma blast right into the terrible terror's mouth which disabled it.

Hiccup realized the only way to kill this dragon was from the inside. He turned to Astrid. He had never gotten the chance to tell her his true feelings this past year because they have been so busy. He realized that he never will.
"Astrid," he looked at her desperately," I need you and mom to stay on the ground. No matter what happens. Stay. Down."
"What are you planning?" his mother asked worriedly.
" I don't have time to explain. Just please stay away."
He then picked up Astrids hand and planted a small kiss.
"Until next time milady," he had a small smirk on his face.
But Astrid knew something was wrong. Before she could even say anything to him though, he and Toothless took off.
"Lets see if this thing can fly bud"
Toothless nodded. He blasted the Red Death with as much power as he could gather. OHH that seemed to get her attention. The duo then rode up past the clouds. Good. The Red Death was following him.

From the ground, Astrid and Valka couldn't figure out who was winning. They both looked worriedly at each other. It looked like a lighting show was happening behind the clouds.

After a few minutes of shooting fire at each other, Toothless's tail caught on fire.
"I guess this is it, bud" Hiccup said.
The Nightfury nodded and started diving head first back to the ground. As the Red Death was following them, it started to catch up. Once the gas in the huge dragon's mouth was about to blow fire, Hiccup signaled his dragon to blast her right in her mouth.

That's when it all spiraled out of control. The Red Death blew up causing the duo to be engulfed by her flames.
"NOOOOO" Valka screamed.
This can't be it, Astrid thought. No, she won't let this happen.

Finally, everything touched the ground causing an even bigger explosion. Everything went silent. After the dust cleared and only the smell of burnt carcass remained, Astrid and Valka frantically searched for Hiccup. That's when Astrid saw Toothless, lying on the ground. SHe started running as fast as her legs could carry her. That was the moment she realized how much she cared for Hiccup. This can't be the end. Everything was just starting to look up.

Once she reached Toothless, she didn't see Hiccup anywhere. With tears already running down her face, she broke down onto the ground. Sobbing uncontrollably. Valka had arrived too. She was holding Astrid, who she had grown quite fond of, and crying too.

Suddenly, Toothless woke up and spread his wings. They couldn't believe it. There he was, Hiccup was cradled in Toothless's wings. Though he was unconscious, Astrid felt a heartbeat signaling he was alive. They had to get Hiccup back immediately, they could tell he didn't have much time. His leg was burnt to the bone and he had other burns all around his body.

Astrid carried Hiccup on her dragon, Stormfly, who was a deadly nadder. Valka carried Toothless on her bigger dragon, Cloudjumper, who was a stormcutter. During their flight back, Astrid kept telling Hiccup that it would be ok. Even though she knew he couldn't hear her, and she didn't know if it would be ok. She held onto him with all of her strength. She was never letting him go again.
