Chapter 5

Valerie woke up, still not feeling well, but feeling better than before. However, she didn't recognize where she was and she seemed to be tied to something. "Hello?" She called out "anyone there?"

"You're awake. Good." "Jesus Christ" Valerie squeaked, startled by the man who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. "Who are you? Where am I?" "Save it for the camera girly." "What?" "3, 2, 1 and action!" The guy said, pointing his phone camera towards her. "Who are you?" "That's not important. I want you to beg your mates to come help you." "My what?" "Oh they haven't told you yet?" "I don't know what you're talking about" "no problem, girly. Just beg Kelly to come and rescue you." "Uh, please, Kelly come save me" Valerie awkwardly said, still not entirely realizing what was going on. "I know you can do better than that. Now beg for him, or I'll shoot you." "Please. I- I can ask my sister to transfer you money if you want. You don't have to do this" "beg for him to help you." The man ordered, coming closer with his gun. "Kelly? Please come help me" Valerie said, softly. Still not the amount of begging the man wanted to see so he fired a shot close to her leg. "Again!" "Please, Kelly, please come help me. Please don't shoot me, I-" "maybe Matt can help you" the man said, hinting for Valerie to call for her other mate, not that she knew what they meant to each other yet. "Matt, please, please get me out of here. He- he has a gun. Please-" she was cut off by him shooting her thigh soliciting a blood curling scream from her "maybe doctor Will and Connor can help you now" "Will, Connor, please. I- I don't want to die. It hurts. Please, please, please get me out of here." The tears were now steaming down her face. "And one more call for help for our detectives Jay and Adam" the man said, taunting her. "Why are you doing this? I don't know-" and another shot to the same thigh, gaining another blood curling scream from Valerie "Jay, Adam, please get me out of here. I- please, I'm scared" she begged, sobbing lightly from the pain and the fear. "You shouldn't have sent OFI after me, luitenant Severide. Now your mate pays the price." The man told the camera before cutting off the live stream and walking off, leaving Valerie there, crying and bleeding.

When they received the video, all 6 of them were furious. Their wolves getting feral from having to see their mate get shot. Their hearts breaking from her begging them to help her. Their protective instincts tripled and they knew if they found her they quickly had to come clean cause they wouldn't leave her side for a while. But first they had to find her. Intelligence was put on the case alongside 30 other cops who were going door to door in an area they thought Valerie could be. They had checked the security footage of Chicago Med and discovered that Trenton Lamont, a suspected arsonist, had taken Valerie from the hospital. They however lost his car due to a couple of traffic cams not working but they knew they had to look for the woman in that area.

Kelly, Matt, Jay, Will, Connor and Adam were just about to head out in groups to search the area for their mate when they got a new video. "Your mate is getting a little sad that no one is coming for her" Trenton spoke, making Kelly immediately clench his jaw. "Why don't I give you a hint. Bleeding Val will go up in flames in 10 minutes. Follow the smoke and you might find her. Maybe you can save her, maybe you can't. Tick tock" this made everyone rush towards their cars because of a call about a building fire before Sylvie stopped them. "Val just texted. She's at 2045 Wilmington" "how do we know that's her and not him tricking us?" Jay asked, "we have a secret code word that means that one of us is in trouble. She would never tell him that." "send squad cars to the other location, we're going to 2045 Wilmington." Voight ordered.

Arriving at the address in no time, it seemed to be empty. Scared that they were fooled, Matt called chief Boden to see if Valerie was in the building fire that was just called in. "I got eyes" they suddenly heard from Antonio, making Jay and Adam make a grab for their guns. "Jay, Adam, I need you with Al and Atwater at the front. Dawson and I will take the back with Lindsay, Roman and Burgess." Voight ordered, making Jay and Adam quickly get into position.

It felt like a lifetime for Valerie, standing in that elevator with gasoline all over the floor and Trenton taunting her with a lighter. She was getting dizzy from the blood loss and the pain in her leg was killing her. She thought this was the end, until "Chicago PD! Put the lighter away!" And before Trenton could light it and throw it in the elevator, Antonio had shot him in the head, making Trenton fall on the floor of the elevator, making Valerie scream again, before she saw Jay who quickly leaned down the elevator shaft to offer her his hands. Pulling her up, he sat her on top of the elevator before bringing the girl into a hug making her cry from the fear she felt and the pain and relief she now feels "you're okay. I got you" Jay said, holding her tightly.
