A heavy force shoved me back. I was pelted with debris and my ears rang from the loud explosion.
Then-everything was silent.
The acrid stench of smoke filled my nose.
"Ray? Are you okay?"
I heard Noah's voice call out.
"Over here," I coughed from the dust and tried to stand up. But crying out in pain, I fell back over. Bricks from the wall were lodged on top of my left leg. "My leg is stuck."
"Hang in there," From where I was surrounded by debri, I watched as Noah stumbled over wood pieces. Ash was smeared all over his clothes and blood dripped from some minor cuts on his neck and face.
He jumped down next to me and began lifting the brick pieces off. "You okay?" He asked, moving the last brick. He offered me a hand to stand up.
"Yeah," With a grunt. Putting weight on my ankle to test it, I muffled a gasp of pain. "Shit," I muttered to myself.
"What?" Noah looked at me with concern. "Did you break it?"
"I think it's twisted," I tried to take another step but almost fell over as my ankle gave way. Noah caught me at the last moment.
"Um Ray? You might want to come see this," Alex called over. He and the young woman with the Key were standing in the gaping hole where the wall to the building should have been. I recognized the woman from the trailers and movie previews as Elena Wallace, the museum lab technician.
"Here, put your weight on me," Noah put my arm around his shoulder and helped me over to the others.
"Thanks," I told him, stepping up beside Alex. What I saw made my heart drop.
My eyes widened as I stared at the grass which was still burning with flames from the explosion. Behind the flames I saw three large metal robots making their way slowly through the smoke towards us.
"I believe you now," Elena told Noah, her voice coming out in a horse whisper. "You were telling the truth."
"Yeah," he nodded worriedly. "But those aren't with me."
"Those would be Terrocons," Alex stated, face expressionless which I knew meant he was trying to hide his fear.
I stared at the tallest robot-crimson fiery eyes shined out through the mask he wore. He raised his metal arms. To my horror two metal spider-like creatures crawled up on his arms, hissing. The robot's voice came out in a deep ominous growl. "Rip the flesh from their bones and bring me the key."
"Shit!" I swore under my breath. He was after the key too? The two creatures jumped off the robot's arms and began scrambling towards us.
"Here, you take it," Elena abruptly broke the stunned silence, shoving the spiral glowing object she was holding into Noah's hands.
At that, the Terrocon's Leader sent a blast from one of his canons. It shot forward, striking the building and causing the whole structure to shake.
I stumbled and fell over backward-straight through the open wall. "Ahh!" I screamed as I began to fall down towards the ground.
"Ray!" Alex shouted, reaching over the edge and grabbing my hand. He tightened his grip, and I dangled over two stories above the ground. "I've...got...you." He grunted, holding tightly to my arm.
"Mirage!" I screamed-wishing-hoping he could hear me.
There was a revving sound.
From where I was still dangling, I saw the other Autobots roll into view-Optimus, Mirage, Arcee and Bumblebee. Instantly they threw themselves into the fight.
"Hang on Ray," Alex gave one tug and began to pull me up.
Suddenly there was a loud thud and the whole building shook.
Alex lost his grip and my arm slipped from his hands.
"Ahh!" Closing my eyes shut, I screamed as the world began to spin.
All at once I felt something grab me and I stopped falling. Opening my eyes, I came face to face with a yellow visored face with blue optics. "Thanks Bee," I exhaled slowly in relief.
"Yer welcome partner," speaking through the radio, he set me down on the ground. "Now run!"
"Ray?" Alex called down worriedly.
Turning, I looked up at the boy who was kneeling at the edge of the building. "Alex, I'm fine! go help Elena and Noah!"
"On it," Standing up, he turned and rushed into the building.
Meanwhile I turned to the fight before me. Optimus Prime was locked in a fight with the Terrorcon leader-what was his name from the movie teaser info I saw? Oh Scourge, right.
I tried to move away from the battlefield, but with my twisted ankle it was kind of impossible.
Coughing from the smoke of the fires, I grit my teeth and ignored the pain as I hobbled forward.
Abruptly I saw Scourge knock Optimus Prime down to the ground. He raised a canon in his hands and was about to kill the Prime!
"No!" My heart dropped.
But the fight was not over yet.
To my shock I saw a yellow blur as Bumblebee ran forward and threw himself at Scourge. The Terrocon leader turned and grabbed the young autobot by the throat. He held him up. "I'm tired of little things getting in my way." He hissed.
My hand went to my throat as I remembered the brief clip from the trailer. No this could not be happening.
Scourge reached forward with his cannon and all at once he shot Bumblebee straight through the spark!
"No!!!" I screamed. Tears filled my eyes as the Terracon grabbed the autobot badge off Bumblebee. Pinning it to his shoulder he tossed the young autobot onto the ground.
I crawled over to Bumblebee-not caring that my ankle felt like it was on fire. I put my hand on his cold metal cheek. "No Bee don't leave us. Please," The tears fell readily down my cheeks.
"Bee-zweep..." Bumblebee buzzed softly. "We had a good run...." His blue optics faded slowly and then went dark.
"No!!!" I threw my head in my hands. Bumblebee was dead!
***********
Please don't hate me-poor Bee did actually die in the movie-I did not make that part up; Scourge really did kill him :(
