There were Energon signals that were being given off near the back entrance to the Temple.

Per Primal's orders I had stayed hidden in the brush while he and the other Maximals confronted the intruders.

Watching through the cover of the plants I had spotted three humans standing outside the cave next to the creek. Then a silver robot appeared on the other hillside-an autobot who I recognized from the movie trailers as Mirage!

If this was not shocking enough, Arcee and Wheeljack showed up, with the final entrance being made by none other than Optimus Prime himself!

"He's here," the words came out in a whisper, as I watched Prime jump in front of the three humans defensively, his gun whirring.

Now I focused on the humans-the one man and woman  were unfamiliar but the other man...he....

"Alex!" I shouted running out from my hiding spot. I practically fell down the hill as I slid down and dashed up to my brother. I enveloped him in a hug, tears falling. "I thought I had lost you!"

"Amy," Alex's voice was choked up as he hugged me back. "You're safe-when the phone hung up I was so worried. I thought something bad had happened to you."

"My phone broke," I explained, hugging my brother tighter-never wanting to let him out of my eyesight again.

    "Amy?"

Hearing another familiar voice I glanced over my brother's shoulder. "Ray!"

The teenager grinned as she ran up and gave me a hug. "I'm so happy both of you are safe." Pulling back I glance from Alex to Ray. "What happened to you two?"

"Well it's a long story...." Ray laughed. "But to make things short-we are helping Optimus get the last half of a key to keep Scourge from giving this world and many others to Unicron to eat."

"To eat?" My eyes widened. "Unicron?" Boy had I missed a lot.

"So, your name is Elena?" I asked the quiet woman as I stepped up towards her to introduce myself.

"Yes," she smiled timidly, tucking a hand over her curly brown hair. She shook my outstretched hand, "Elena Wallace."

"Amy Matthews," I smiled in reply. With a laugh I elbowed my brother, slipping an arm around his shoulder. "I assume you were at the lab Alex said he had been at."

"How?" Elena seemed puzzled that I had guessed it so easily.

"Lucky guess," I laughed lightly. "Just kidding. Airazor filled me in when she introduced herself. Thank you for taking care of my brother."

"Oh," Elena smiled, her cheeks warming. "You're welcome. He helped me out quite a bit too-your lucky to have a brother like him."

I noticed Alex duck his head at the praise from where he stood on my other side. To my surprise he grinned and addressed Elena in a louder voice than his usual quiet whisper. "Well, we are honorary siblings, aren't we?"

"Yeah!" The young woman brightened. "You're also a great lab partner too-you're welcome on my team anyday."

I watched with more shock as Elena and Alex struck up into a lively conversation about the museum they had been working at.

What had happened to Alex? He seems so...different than his usual quiet self.

Suddenly I heard a supressed groan.

Turning I saw Airazor rub her beak on her wing.

"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly, noticing a darker mark forming on the upper corner of her large right wing. "That doesn't look so good."
