CHAPTER 4

"Of course, tell me." Dwayne responded.

"Hmm umm, the thing is I'm thinking about looking for a new apartment. Can you come with me tomorrow?"

"Yea sure but why? Something wrong?"

"No no no, everything's good but I'm thinking I should be closer to the univ because of the traffic is all hehe." Well, it's not totally a lie.

"Okay then I'll see you tomorrow, Cid."

"Thanks Dwayne. I can wait for you outside your apartment." He said yes and we hang up.

I put my phone down but got a text from him.

"Is 7 am good?"

"Yes, it is." I replied.

"Ok Cid." He replied and I just nodded my head in satisfaction.

*Alarm rings*

Hmmm. Its 5:30 am already? It's time to get up now urgh. I quickly got up from bed, washed up, cooked some eggs and rice, ate, and ironed the t-shirt and pants I will wear. Then I informed Dwayne that I am on my way already before I got on my car and drove to his apartment.

I arrived just a minute early and I just sat there waiting for him to come out.

"Hey!" I looked at the door's apartment and saw Dwayne calling out to me.

"Hey there! Good morning haha." He said when he finally stood right in front of my car door.

"Good morning! Get in. I'll drive." He smiled and shook his head and opened the door.

"I'll drive. No buts." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the seat. Dang. But I guess he doesn't trust me enough to drive as a girl.

"Hey don't say that." "Huh?"

"I heard you silly, I trust you but I don't want you to drive when I totally can." I just laughed and sat defeatedly on the shotgun seat.

"Okayy. So, where are we going?" He asked.

"Umm, I looked up apartments yesterday online. I saw this apartment for rent like in the Mexico Street." I showed him the apartment but his eyebrows raised immediately.

"No. It's a big no. That location isn't safe but sure its near."

"There's also this other one just a kilometer away."

"Hmmm. The apartment doesn't look like it's in a good condition."

An hour later, we still haven't decided where to go because he keeps on being picky. Sighs. "Are you sure? This is the last one." I asked.

"Yes, the rent is too high Cid. You don't have enough money to pay that much, do you?"

"Well... yes I guess you're right." I sighed in defeat.

"I'm sorry Cid. I really tried to help but I think your current apartment is still better than the one's near here..." He rubbed the back of his neck uneasily.

"It's alright. I don't blame you haha don't worry."

"Hmm, you should come inside my apartment before you go. We sat here in your car for an hour." I nodded my head and we entered his apartment.

I sat on the couch and he went to the kitchen.

"Juice or coke?" He asked from the kitchen.

"A juice." I replied and after a few minutes, he came back with two glasses of orange juice.

"Here's yours. Here's mine." I took it and took a sip. Tastes like juice. Of course, bc it's a juice Cindy.

"Crazy thought. Wanna hear?" I glanced at Dwayne and he is smiling sheepishly.

"Mhmm..."

"Perhaps we can stay together in this apartment."

I nearly choked on the juice.

"What sorry?!"

"It's not as bad as you think. Living with a guy means you have someone to protect you."

"I don't need your protection..." I spoke.

"You do. I'm even surprised how you can live in this big city without any relatives..." He stood up and took the empty glasses.

"Well, all I'm saying is, there are two bedrooms here and a large space in the kitchen, bathroom, living room. Plus, you will just have to pay half of the rent and bills. You will have some company too."

"I know, I know... it's just I never had to live with someone else before..." Because I am an only child and my parents were idk where on earth and I was raised by my aunt who's working abroad.

"You did tell me that you were always alone before. I understand Cindy..." He went to the kitchen and I followed him there.

"I am just concerned. I'm your best friend, right?"

"Yep." I answered, with the P sound popping.

"Then? What do you think?" He said and sat down on one of the stools.

"Mmm. Okay." I think it's not a bad idea.

"Okay?"

"Yes, okay I agree haha."

"Alright. I'll just clean up here when you go and maybe a day later, you can move in."
