Chapter 12: Her Family

Cindy's POV

Hmmm.. why is there someone shouting early in the morning?

I rubbed my eyes until i was satisfied and looked around.

What?! Why can't I see clearly?!

"You can't do a single thing right!" A mans angry voice resonated every corner with a crying voice in a distance.

"Fuck!" A door slammed and i cried terrified.

"Baby.. its okay don't cry.." I felt warm arms wrap around me. It feels so familiar.

"Its okay Cindy, mommy is here... Shush now.."

She hugs me tightly and comb through my hair gently, both of us trying to soothe each other.

"Miss Cindy, are you awake?"

I gasped in shock. What was that? Ohhh.. it must have been a dream.

I heard another knock on the door.

"Yes, i am awakee." I shouted so she could hear.

It's been almost a month now since that day when i agreed to marry Rafael.

Although, we are not really in good terms still, I try my best to just get by everyday living under the same roof and dealing with him.

Rose, a maid here, opened the door and greeted me.

"I will prepare your bath, Ma'am Cindy."

"Thank you, Rose." I thanked her and got out of bed and fixed it.

Soon, she finished drawing a bath for me and i thanked her again before she left and i took a bath.

The rules of Rafael are very simple, I have to be his loving wife and be the best companion to show everyone. It is like being an actress outside and when we are back home, the show is over and we are not close at all but we are pretty much civil.

In short, he must be respected at all times and i must do my job as his wife.

Well, yes we got married. A week after we had an agreement, he arranged a small wedding which have hit the headlines and made many of my acquaintances and friends reach out to me non-stop. Also, Auntie Lisa was shocked more than anyone else and i had to make excuses why I suddenly married a multibillionare  and also why Dwayne and I broke up.

Its been a rough month for me....

"Good morning, Ma'am Cindy. What would you like for breakfast?"

The head maid, Tina, asked me and I answered with the same answer i always say, "Just what you have there, Tina."

Then, Rafael would come down any minute if he was here.

Currently, he is at his ex-wife's house with their son because it seems that Marvin is having trouble sleeping nowadays and always looking for his Dad.

I haven't seen him tho, ever since the wedding day. I hope he is doing better.

I finished eating breakfast and brought the plates to the kitchen and put them on the dishwasher and run the machine.

I sat down on one of the couches in the living room after and just stare at the ceiling.

I feel lonely... After all...

Mhmm... No matter how much i try to shake the feeling of loneliness and sadness i still can't get rid of it.

It is hard to still take in the fact that I am married to a man who blackmailed me for his selfish reasons and own benefits.

I do hate him. I do. But, i can't do anything about it.

"Ma'am Cindy, your phone is vibrating. I think someone's calling."

"Ohh, yes yes, sorry I didn't realize." I reached for my phone in my pants pocket.

Mmm.. Its Rafael's secretary.

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Hi, Ma'am Cindy, I just called per Sir Richie's orders to inform you that he won't be home for another week. It is because Marvin is still having a tough time sleeping. He says he is sorry and will try to be home as soon as he can."

Ohh... I see... He knows that be doesn't have to inform me though. What a drag.

"I see, thats very understandable. Thank you for informing me."

I thanked her and we hanged up.

I can't tell what is going on in his mind really. He makes his secretary call his "wife" lol.

Anyways, none of that really matters.

"I wish i am working though and not just sitting here and doing nothing."

Suddenly, my phone rings again and it shows my Aunt's name, so i answered the call and greeted her.

"Im alright, dear. I just called because guess what?"

"What?" I asked.

"I'm in front of your house!"

Auntie Lisa almost gave me a heart attack. I rushed to get to her and then one of the guards drove us to the main mansion.

"What were you thinking, Auntie? You should have gave me heads up that you're back. Seriously."

She just laughed at me, "Stop it silly. I wanted to surprise you! I missed you and i also missed your wedding... "

I hugged her briefly and told her again and again that everything just happened and she couldn't make it because of work so its okay and there's nothing to be sad about.

"Okay Cindy. Well, what else can i do right?" We both laughed and well, umm its kinda getting awkward because Rafael's butler is around us while we are chatting in the living room.

"Mmm, so... how long are you staying here, Auntie?"

"Im not sure, but two weeks must be the longest i can stay."

We chatted for a few more minutes before she said she will come visit again next time because she have to meet some old friends of hers.

"Just message me when you're free Auntie, we can meet up at the malls or what okie?"

"Alright dear, i'll get going now. Take care."

I waved my hands at her leaving figure until i could no longer see her and went back inside the huge gate where the same guard is waiting for me to drive me back to the mansion.
