Cindy's POV

"Mmm, I think I took a wrong turn..." I maneuvered and drove back to the main road and went straight until finally I saw a cream white painted hospital. I parked my car on the basement and rode on the elevator and clicked the floor 1 button.

As soon as the elevator stopped and opened, I was immediately shocked at the view in front of me.

This doesn't look like just any other ordinary hospital I know...

A beautiful huge water fountain stands in the center, circled with realistic grass. Looking up, I saw huge crystals hanging from three modern looking chandeliers coated with gold paint.

Even the floors look magnificent... It's tiled and grouted with gold. I must say that this is a very impressive interior designing, and this is a freaking hospital for goodness's sake.

"Hi, are you hiring new nurses?" I asked on the receptionist.

"Yes, we're currently interviewing applicants on the room right over there." I followed where she is pointing at and saw a huge black and gold door with two guards guarding them.

"Thank you, Nurse." I thanked her and strode towards what seems like a hall room or something.

"Hi! I am an applicant, is this where the interview is?" I asked politely to the guards. They didn't respond however and just opened the door to let me in.

"Thank you." I walked in slowly as I try to see what is going on in the hall. Many female applicants are here and almost just 20 or more are male which makes sense because female nurses are actually more than men even in the university.

My eyes wandered off looking for the end of the long line. I started walking towards it and walked through dozens and dozens of people. Making me wonder if I might be able to land this job at all.

The line moved in a steady pace however and some minutes later I was halfway there. We kept on standing and stepping forward for at least another 20 minutes and eventually I found myself next to be interviewed.

"Introduce yourself please." The person sitting in the middle of the long table with other three interviewers asked and I began to introduce myself.

"What do you think is your edge among the other applicants here?" Another interviewer asked who is wearing a corporate suit compared to the interviewers that seemed like doctors.

"I believe that I am very passionate and hard working which really would make me be of use since I love doing this profession, Sir."

"Okay, thanks for coming here. Next." Huh? That's it? I guess... I would not be getting this job...

I looked at them and smiled earnestly and left the hall.

"You did your best, that's all that matters Cindy." Sighs. It's been a tough day and this is just another job-hunting experience to put on my failed list. But hey, they are a lot of hospitals in this city so no need to feel down now.

I took a deep breath and sighed. It is what it is.

"Baby, how did it go?" Dwayne said.

"It went alright you know; I will call you back later when I get home."

"Ok baby, I love you, rest when you get home." I hummed yes in response and said I love you too and hanged up. I guess I should stop by my Auntie's condo first. She is leaving tomorrow morning.

I went to Cake Mystery Land and bought a chocolate fudge cake and went to Auntie's place. We chatted for a while as we ate and an hour later, we both felt so full that we could barely stand.

"That cake was amazing, honey." Auntie laughed and I agreed.

"It is getting late tho; I should get going now Auntie."

"Ohh why? I thought you would stay?"

"Hmmm, definitely not a bad idea but I haven't told Dwayne yet."

"He would understand. Text him or call him. I will be right back." Auntie stood up and went to her kitchen.

So, I dialed Dwayne's number however he isn't picking up. Maybe he is still on duty. I just informed him through text instead and I went out on the balcony to get some fresh night air.

"What are you thinking about, honey?" I looked back in surprise when someone spoke.

"Ohhh Auntie. Umm, nothing much really." "You can tell me, you know that right?" She gently stroked my hair.

"It's just sometimes I wonder how nice would it be to know my parents." My voice almost cracked. Family stuff is really such a big thing to me.

"Why all of a sudden you're thinking about that?"

"Coz my dad can probably help me out in getting a job and my mom might know some things too."

"Is that so? Well, from my perspective I think they would but honey, they left you to me. I'm your parent now too. I can help you out."

I hugged Auntie Lisa and said thanks.

"I know Auntie. Mmm, I will go out for a bit to buy some stuff." She nodded and I took my wallet with me without my car keys since the mall is just walking distance from here.

"I'm going out now!" I shouted from the door and closed it.

At the mall, the cold air made it difficult for me to walk since I am now just wearing shorts underneath my slacks earlier. This made me enter one of the clothing stores and look for anything at all.

Hmmm. My eyes darted back and forth from the dress and the pajamas on each of my hand.

"Ma'am, I think the dress would suit you best."

"I agree, but it is a little long tho."

"Why don't you try this one?"

The female sales lady handed me a purple off shoulder flowing dress. It is casual looking and covers most of legs but still would look very flattering. I changed on it and paid for the dress which doesn't cost that much just 18$. It's been so long since I bought anything new for myself.

After that I went to a bookstore and look for books about job-searching. One particular book looked promising and so I bought it which thankfully is on sale.

I then went to the supermarket and put on my basket shampoo, conditioner, sanitary napkins, and a face soap that I can use tomorrow and later to wash up in Auntie's place since I am pretty much picky on the things I use on my body and I prefer specific brands that I used all the time.

It didn't cost much since it's not per bottle that I bought. Mmm, I think there's nothing else for me to buy.

Suddenly, I landed on my butt on the tiled floor.

"Oh, my goodness, I am really sorry. Here let me help you." A tall blonde girl turned out to bump at me and I gladly took her hand to stand up.

"It's okay. Don't worry." I smiled at her and I am fortunately wearing a long dress so nothing that shouldn't show was seen.

"Thank God. I found yo—"

"Dwayne?" The woman said.

Hold on a second, what is he doing here?

"Cindy? Ohh! Hi you met Sabrina?" Dwayne asked.

"Uhmm.. yes.." What the hell is going on?!
