Ch.10 Rabbit doll

After they had gotten rid of the Orderlies, Alistair fell asleep, and another nightmare happened. In his nightmare, he was in the asylum again, and he was in an empty cell. He looked at the bandage on his arm from when a shot was injected into his arm. He laid on the floor and felt the medicine run through his body. He then got up quickly and grabbed his head with both hands while walking back and forth. He then stopped walking and began screaming and acting like a maniac. The nurse and doctor watched through the window.

"He acts just like his mother" the nurse said "Should we, help him?"

"Why not?" the doctor said as they unlocked the door and went in the cell.

When Alistair saw them, he ran to the corner.

"It's ok Alistair" the doctor said "We're just going to help you".

He tried to run away but they had already grabbed him. He struggled to get away, but they had strong grips.

"Alistair" they said "Alistair Alistair..."

"Alistair" he heard someone say while shaking him "Alistair get up".

He felt his eyes start to open.

"Alistair".

He gasped as he woke up, he found that he was laying on the train seat.

"Alistair" he saw Maddie next to him "We're here".

He looked out the window and saw that the train had stopped at the Oxford train station. When the gang got off, Alistair told them about his nightmare.

"Oh dear" Lizzie said "You poor thing".

"Why do I keep on getting these nightmares?" Alistair asked.

"I pretty sure they wont go away until you solve your problem" Cari said as he groaned.

"Well since we're in Oxford now" Kitty said "Where Alice's old house?"

"Well according to the map" Alistair opened the map "It should be-" but before he could look for the location of the house, a carriage passed by and hooked the map out of his hands and rode away.

"No no no no!" Alistair yelled as he went after the carriage, but it disappeared behind dome buildings so he gave up "Well that's just great".

"So how are we gonna find the house now?" Tammy asked.

"We can ask someone" Maddie suggested "I mean, everyone's got to know Alice, so they probably know where her house is, or was, or, well you know what I mean".

"So who should we ask?" Marchness asked.

Just then a meow was heard, the gang saw Dinah in front of them.

"Dinah" Alistair said "Do you know where the house?"

Dinah walked away and they followed her until they made it to the house. The house was 2 stories and burnt, but it wasn't broken on the ground like when Alice saw it topple to the ground, it was rebuild but burnt.

"There it is" Alistair said "The scene of the crime".

"We have to go in there?" Dina asked.

"I'm not" Lizzie took a step back "It could be haunted".

"Well I'm going in" Alistair said as he climbed up the steps.

"Alistair" Maddie stopped him "I'm not so sure about this, you don't know what's in there, there could be rats, bats, even ghosts".

"I have to look" he said "I could find something".

He then went to the door with a sign saying "Liddell", he slowly opened the door while it made a creaking noise and peeked inside, everything looked burnt. He then stepped inside and closed the door.

"So, what are we suppose to do?" Bunny asked.

"I guess we wait until he runs out screaming" Kitty said.

Alistair got out his flashlight and turned it on and shined it around the room. There were burnt pictures of the Liddell family, some of little Alice and her sister Lizzie, there was one of little Alice holding her rabbit toy that had survived the fire when she jumped out of the window with it. Alistair went into the living room and saw the burnt bookshelf and couches, just then something moved behind him, he quickly turned around and pointed his flashlight, but he saw nothing. He then decided to go upstairs, so he climbed up the squeaky stairs and into the second story. He went down the hall and found a door with a sign marked "Alice", this was his mother's room. He opened the door and stepped into the room. The room was a bit small, there were drawings on the wall made by Alice, a shelf with books, a big bed that had the rabbit toy on it, the same one that used to Alice's. Alistair went to the bed and picked up the rabbit doll, the doll was missing an eye, it was dirty and had lots of stitches. His mother had been looking for this doll, but she could never find it. He held onto the doll as he looked around the room. He then went to the broken mirror that hung on the wall, but as he looked into the mirror, he saw 3 ghostly figures behind him, he turned around by they were gone, he was beginning to believe that this place really was haunted, like what Lizzie said. He then felt a cool breeze brush pass his arm.

"Why is it getting cold all of a sudden?" he asked himself as he shivered.

It was getting colder that he could see his breath, but when he turned around, he saw the figures again. He shrieked as he ran out of the room, down the stairs and out of the house.

"Alistair what happened?" Cari asked.

"Did you see any ghost?" Maddie asked.

"Sure did" he said as everyone gasped.

"What's that?" Kitty pointed to the rabbit doll he had.

"This was my mother's rabbit doll" he said as he showed them the doll.

"It needs a new eye" Lizzie said "And a wash".

"My mom had this doll since the fire" Alistair added "It's her prize possession, but she lost it when she left the asylum, and she's been looking for it, but I think she gave up. And now that I've found it, I'm going to give it back to her once she get's here".

"When is she getting here?" Dina asked.

"I don't know" Alistair shrugged "Soon I hope".

"Well did you find anything else in there?" Bunny asked.

"Not really".

"So, are we done?" Tony asked.

"I guess" Alistair said.

"Well this seemed like a waste of time" Lizzie said "Just coming to this house to find a rabbit doll".

"But now we don't have to take the train" Kitty said as she smiled "I can teleport you guys back to London".

"Great" everyone said.

"Now everyone hang on" Kitty said as everyone grabbed onto her and each other and they all teleported.
