Ch.14 Meeting

Alistair laid in the bed and felt another nightmare coming. In his nightmare, he was strapped onto a chair with the Orderlies next to him. The bigger one then put a metal headpiece on him and began to drill into his head. Alistair squirmed as he felt the drills pressing against his head. The smaller one then came up to him with a large syringe needle.

"This should be fun" the smaller one grinned as he grabbed Alistair's arm and stuck the needle into it.

Alistair cried in pain as the needle was taken out and the headpiece was removed. He felt the medicine run through his veins and to his brain.

"Let's see how he'll react to this" the bigger man said as he held up a belt.

He then used the belt to whip Alistair's leg, the boy gave a small cry and was given another whip on the leg. Alistair continued to get more whips when he then felt himself waking up, he opened his eyes slowly and found himself squirming in the bed as if he could feel the whips. He stopped squirming and sat up. He saw that he was still in the cell in the asylum. His head then started to hurt, he could feel the drills from his nightmare pressing against his head. He held onto his head as he felt the painful headache, he got out of bed and walked back and forth, he then felt the pain get stronger, and he let out a scream. After he screamed, he realized how he was acting.

"Oh no" he said to himself "Am I going, insane?"

Alistair then heard the door unlocked, the door opened and there stood the Orderlies.

"Dr. Bumby would like to talk to you" the bigger one said as he pulled Alistair out and they handcuffed his hands behind his back.

As they took him down the halls, Alistair looked into his friend's cells as they passed by. He got a glimpse of Kitty in her cell singing '100 bottles of beer on the wall' sadly. He also saw Lizzie staring at them through her bars, he saw that her heart makeup was all smeared. He also saw Bunny sitting in the corner lightly banging her spoon against the wall while mumbling 'help'. And he saw Maddie sitting on the bed mumbling some odd riddlish and every few seconds she would scream.

"Bumby's right" the smaller man said "That girl is the maddest one".

"Oh no" Alistair thought, he couldn't believe what was happening to Maddie. She used to be the happy funny girl who would make him smile, but now she's turned to a crazy lunatic. The Orderlies took Alistair to an office where he saw Dr. Bumby at the desk.

"Ah, hello Alistair" Bumby said, he looked at the Orderlies and motioned them to uncuff Alistair's wrists.

"Have a seat" he said to Alistair who had a stern look when he sat on the chair across Dr. Bumby "So, this morning we heard you screaming, why were you screaming? Did you see a spider?"

"I had a nightmare" Alistair said as he avoided his eye contact.

"A nightmare eh? What was this nightmare about?"

Alistair didn't know if he should tell them.

"Just what was the nightmare about?" Bumby repeated.

"Pain" Alistair mumbled "And madness".

"I see" Bumby said as he wrote some stuff down on a piece of paper "Now Alistair, the reason why I wanted you here is because I'm giving you one last chance. Tell me the truth, where is Alice?"

"I already told you" Alistair said quietly "She's in Wonderland".

"This Wonderland thing again" Bumby sighed "You are like your mother, going on about this crazy Wonderland nonsense. Alistair, when are you going to learn that Wonderland isn't real?"

"That's not true" Alistair said, still quietly.

"Not true huh?" Bumby asked.

"I was born there".

"You, were born in Wonderland? That's the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard".

Alistair felt his eyes water.

"Alistair, tell me, did you have a good childhood?" Bumby asked.

"Yes" Alistair said.

"Really? Did you spent you're childhood with your mad friends?"

"Yeah".

"Did your mother love you?"

"With all her heart".

"And did you love her back?"

"Of course".

"What about your father?"

"He passed away when I was just a baby, I grew up without a father".

"So you never knew your father huh? So what about your other relatives? Did they ever love you?"

"I never knew them, they were killed in the fire" Alistair scowled.

"Oh right, but do you have any other relatives?"

"No".

"Now about your friends, they seem to be as mad as you, especially that Madeline girl, now what's with her, why is she mad?"

Alistair knew that if he told Dr. Bumby, he wouldn't believe him.

"So why is she mad?" Bumby repeated.

Alistair sighed "Because she's the daughter of the Mad Hatter".

"Oh, the Mad Hatter huh? Now isn't that a character your mother met in Wonderland?"

"Yeah" Alistair mumbled.

"Of course, and what about the girl with the smudgy heart, Lizzie right? What a lovely name, she has the same name as Alice's sister. She also has a loud voice, so is she the daughter of a Wonderland character?"

"Yeah".

"And who would that be?"

"The Queen of Hearts".

"Oh, the queen of hearts, like in the playing cards. So, are all of your friends from Wonderland?"

"Yeah".

"Oh Alistair, this whole Wonderland nonsense is driving all of you mad, this world is just in your imagination. I can help all of you, I can help you forget and become normal".

"Where I come from, normal doesn't exist".

"Oh right, cause in Wonderland, nothing's normal. You know Alistair, if you keep acting like this, you could be in this asylum for a very long time. You could end up like your mother, a crazy, mad women who keeps talking about a made up world and is a threat to everyone".

Alistair felt his blood boil.

"She's a joke, she probably shouldn't of even been in this world so she wouldn't of been a threat to everyone".

"Don't you ever talk about my mother like that!" he yelled as Bumby took a step back.

"Very well" Bumby said, he then turned to the Orderlies "I think we should give him some special treatments".

Alistair's eyes widen and his heart pounded with fear as the Orderlies took him away.
