Ch.17 Roof fight

Alistair ran as fast as he could to the asylum, when he got inside, he found that his mother and Bumby weren't in the front entrance, so he started to look for them. But as he searched and when he turned around a corner, he bumped into Alice.

"Alistair?" Alice said "What are you doing here?"

Alistair saw that his mom had some blood on her lips, a bruise on her forehead, and some scratches on her arms.

"Well, um" he said, he couldn't stop looking at her injuries "First of all, what happened to you?"

"Bumby and I had a violent fight" she said "But I hit him on the head with a pan so he's down for now, but I'm all right. Now what are you doing here?"

But before Alistair could answer, Bumby burst out of the Trepanning room. He then noticed Alice and Alistair.

"Come on!" Alice grabbed Alistair's arm as they ran from Bumby.

"So why are you here?" Alice asked as they ran "I thought I told you and the gang to get out of the asylum".

"We did" Alistair said "But now we've got a problem. Maddie got crushed on by a heavy pipe".

"What?!" Alice gasped.

"It fell off of a building and it was about to land on me, but Maddie pushed me out of the way and the pipe landed on her, and now her rib cage is broken".

"Oh no".

"We need to get her to a hospital, but we don't know where it is so I came here because we think you know where the hospital is".

"Well I do know where the hospital is" Alice said as she got an idea "Actually, Maddie doesn't need to go to the hospital".

"What?"

"Give me my purse".

Alistair gave Alice the purse and she began to search in it. She then pulled out a small bottle filled with some blue sand.

"What is that?" Alistair asked.

"Fairy dust" Alice said "I got it when I last visited Neverland. This dust kind heal any injuries, wounds, broken bones, even illnesses. But this kind of dust is very rare, so I can only use it for emergencies. And since Maddie seems to be dying, it looks like we need to use this dust on her".

Just then, when they turned around a corner, Alice bumped into Dr. Bumby. Alice then felt herself passing out, Alistair saw that she had ran into a syringe needle that Bumby was holding!

"Mom!" Alistair gasped as Alice collapsed to the floor and the bottle of fairy dust rolled out of her hand.

"Well that wasn't meant for her" Bumby said "But oh well".

He then noticed the bottle, Alistair tried to grab it but Bumby got it first.

"What is this?" Bumby asked.

"That's not yours" Alistair said.

Bumby then opened the bottle.

"Give it back!" Alistair ordered as he tried to grab the bottle, but Bumby wouldn't let him.

Alistair had to get the bottle back, he then got an idea. He waited till Bumby wasn't looking, and he grabbed the bottle out of his hands and ran away.

"Get back here!" Bumby ordered as he went after the boy.

Alistair ran down the halls with the bottle in his hands, he then stuffed the bottle into his sachet as he continued to run. When he passed by a hall, he looked back at the hall and saw a door on the ceiling, he also saw a ladder below it. Hearing Bumby's footsteps coming, Alistair went over and climbed on the ladder and opened the door. He found that the door led to the roof top of the asylum. He climbed on the roof and closed the door. He walked carefully on the roof and looked over London. All of a sudden the roof door opened, and Bumby came out.

"There you are" he scowled at Alistair as he climbed out.

Alistair looked for a way to escape, but he saw that they were on the highest part of the asylum, and the only way to escape was to go down, and it was a steep fall.

"There's no escaping Wonderboy" Bumby said as he reached into his coat and pulled out the Vorpal blade.

Bumby must of taken the knife when he was fighting Alice.

"I would of killed Alice now and get it over with" Bumby said as he ran his fingers across the blade "But I think it'll be better if she suffered first when I tell her that her son is dead".

Alistair spotted a crowbar on the roof, he quickly got it and aimed it at Bumby.

"Like a crowbar will defeat me" Bumby chuckled "I don't think so".

Bumby then raised the blade to stab Alistair, but Alistair quickly used the crowbar to block it. Alistair then stepped on Bumby's toes and shoved him back.

"If there's one thing you don't know about me" Alistair said "Is that I know how to sword fight, even though I'm not fighting with a sword right now".

"Let me guess" Bumby said "You learned that in Wonderland?"

"How'd you know that?" Alistair gave a fake smile.

"Your mother has great fighting skills".

"Well she did teach me some skills. Cause you never know when you'll run into danger such as this".

"Just how good are you with a weapon?"

"Well let's find out shall we?" Alistair said as the 2 begin to fight with their weapons.

Bumby was impressed with Alistair's fighting, but not impressed enough. As they fought, Bumby was able to grab hold of the crowbar and pull it out from Alistair's hands. Bumby then used the crowbar to smack it across Alistair's face which caused him to topple over the edge of the roof, but he grabbed onto the edge so he was now dangling from the roof. Alistair looked down and saw how high he was from the hard ground. Bumby then looked down on Alistair and stepped on his fingers, Alistair didn't dare the let go, so matter how much it hurt.

"I don't know if I should kill you from here" Bumby said "Or let you fall to your death".

"Well actually I don't think I'll die" Alistair said "I'll just get badly hurt".

"Then you'll be weak" Bumby said.

Both of them didn't notice Alice opening the roof door.

"And it'll be easier to kill you" Bumby added.

Alice saw what was happening, she quickly looked in her purse and pulled out some fireworks.

"Let's see" Bumby said pressed the blade against Alistair's wrist "I could cut your hands off".

Alistair felt the cold blade pressing against his skin, and he felt his arms start to get tired, but he kept hanging on.

Alice tied the fireworks together and took aim towards Bumby, she then got a lighter and lit the fireworks.

"I guess I'll just kill you right now" Bumby said as he raised the knife up getting ready to stab Alistair "So Alice can suffer".

Alice then let go of the fireworks and they went towards Bumby. The fireworks were strong enough to lift Bumby into the sky and they burst. Alice, Alistair, and the gang near the construction area watched the fireworks in the sky.

"Whoa" everyone gasped.

Alistair sighed in relief as Alice pulled him up and into a hug.

"You ok?" Alice asked as they stopped hugging.

"I'm fine" Alistair said "But you carry fireworks in your purse?"

"I carry lot's of odd useful things" Alice smiled "And I knew those fireworks would come in handy".

"So what happened to Dr. Bumby?"

"I'm not sure, but we'll deal with him later. Do you have the fairy dust?"

Alistair reached into his sachet and pulled out the bottle of fairy dust.

"Great" Alice smiled "Now let's save Maddie".
